Yeah. I've been there a few times over the last month.
I've recently taken a load of photo's of the place.
I myself have been a moderate and at times heavy drinker throughout my life, yet have ever had a problem with it. I have cut back or stopped drinking at various times in my life, for health related reasons (not to do with drink, but to do with prescribed medication for another ailment, not being alcohol compatible).
Even now, I like the odd pint or two (or ten-once in a while) as most of us do.
One of my best mates has had a big problem with alcohol in the past, and I always kind of think, there for the grace of god go I.
Liverpool being the drinking capital of the UK, I actually think they're trying to do a good thing, and I like their philosophy of trying to give people an alternative on a night out, other than drinking.
They also do food, and have live bands on and the like.
They're also involved in some AA stuff or anti-addiction meetings etc. to help people kick their addictions.
They're open from about 9.00 in the morning. If I'm up that end of town, I often give them my patronage during the day, even just for a good cup of tea and cake, or a lite bite throughout the day.
They may be swimming against the tide in Liverpool, with the amount of heavy drinkers in this city, and they could of done with being in a bit more of a higher profile place for passing trade.
That said. They are the first of their kind in this city, so who knows if it will take off, or die a death over the coming months or years.
Based on Parr Street, about 100yards up from MelloMello or Santa Chapito's (which are on the corner of Parr St./ Slater Street).
If you are up that way sometime, give them a go.
If it's not for you, then fair enough.
I actually think it's quite a brave venture, in a city like Liverpool. Certainly being the party city we are.
