Whenever I have a clean-out of the garage and take stuff to the tip, I suffer with anxiety for days afterwards.

What I need that thing I threw out? Couldn't someone have made use of such & such?

Wish my Dad had such issues. He cleaned out the loft once and threw out a mint condition, boxed, original NES (Nintendo) yet kept a load of shite like my sisters old cuddly bears which were practically dropping to pieces

amount of stuff that gets hoarded up

videos that havent been watched in years, 442 magazines, two wheels etc. up in the attic theres an exercise machine there since we moved in. it isnt even ours. hasnt moved since we moved in

I'm generally not a boarder as my parents were shocking for it so if I don't know what something's for or haven't used something for months it goes in the bin.

This lot was stuff we boxed up when we rented the house out to a friend and ten years later I got fed up of asking hubby to help me clear it out (he hates spiders and creepy crawlies) so I did it myself.

When the garage is done I'm starting on the attic, then the cellars, finally finishing with cupboards, drawers and wardrobes. I might then have room to put clothes and things we do use [emoji23]🤣[emoji23]

I had a garage built about 4 years ago so I could work on my bikes, it ended up a shit tip within weeks. Now, everytime I try to tidy it, either my depression kicks in and I do an about turn or the kids come and harass me to play with them. While I was off sick I got a lot of clearing done, but it is back to a mess again.

Today I went for a walk on the beach barefoot, and let the water wash around my toes.

I honestly cannot remember the last time I did that. Has to be close to thirty years ago...

My tip [emoji16] for today (how I used to do things) is have a large box or container in the garage to put all that stuff in then once a month take it to the tip.

That way it never accumulates enough to become an effort to get rid of [emoji41]

Diving into clear, cool sea on a hot day. Such a simple thing. Such a refreshing feeling. Love what saltwater does for the skin too when skinny-dipping.

Totally get that mate, my early morning walk with my dogs has the same effect. Sets me up for the day believing I can achieve anything.

Being able to post on here. Simple as that really. Really struggling to adapt to the couture of Spain.but knowing I can come here and let off steam or laugh and see shit that goes on with my beloved club and city . That brings me some hope and gratitude and reminds me I will never walk alone. Sounds daft but it’s a real struggle and I’m determined to make it work and just coming on here helps!
