I am off to the Valley tomorrow to check him out (I live local and it's only a fiver for every seat tomorrow). Will report back

Guaranteed he won't play! Intrigued to hear what you reckon tho.

Definately not good enough for us. I don't think he's even good enough to be a top championship striker. Think he'll need to really work on his game and become a wide midfielder/winger if he's to get anywhere.

Eccleston attracting interest
Toffees and Tigers keen on Reds youngster
Last updated: 18th February 2011

Eccleston: Impressing at Charlton

The Liverpool youngster is currently on loan with the League One high-flyers for the remainder of the season.

The 20-year-old has been in fine form for Chris Powell's side having followed up his Man of the Match display against Peterborough with a goal against Hartlepool.

Eccleston has been a regular since arriving at The Valley and he is relishing the opportunity to play consistent first-team football.

Everton and Hull City are now thought to be keeping tabs on the Manchester-born marksman, who is well down the pecking order at Anfield.

Eccleston spent time on loan with Huddersfield Town last season and scored on his debut in a 1-0 win over Yeovil Town.

He looked good whenever he was given a chance to play . These are the kind of players whom we should groom . He may or may not be good enough for liverpool but if he develops into a good player and scores a few in PL . We can get a good amount by selling him . This is exactly what the mancs do .

They couldn't afford a penny sweet right now.

It's good to see Nathan getting a chance to play regularly at Charlton and hopefully he can get some goals and put in some great performances, and give himself a real push for a regular place back with us next year

He started for Charlton on Saturday and had a really good game. Good movement on and off the ball, decent pace, very good ball control and consistently got past the Exeter defence, did a lot of stepovers (but not in a flashy Ronaldo showing off way, just purely to get through their defence). Good work rate and no attitude. Exeter clearly identified him as a threat because they kicked the shit out of him for the 87 minutes he was on the pitch

He does have a lot of potential. Definitely one to keep watching for the future and if he continues to play regularly for Charlton he'll grow pretty quickly and be a good asset for us next season

Good to see him doing well at Charlton. Had my doubts about him I admit, but he's kicked on and really improved. His attitude seems to be great judging by his updates on twitter and that. Seems a real down to earth lad. He's one I've got hope for over the coming seasons.

I thought he had his loan period extended. He played against City at the weekend, didn't he?

Oh well. Would've been nice to see Eccleston against Darby though.

Just got put clean through no-one ahead of him and defender 2 yards behind. Should have taken it well into the box instead he struck a left foot half volley from 25 yards.

Unlucky there, good link up and a great turn of pace to get through on goal but keeper was quick off his line.

Always bitching about one thing or another. I like that he wants to play but he ends up coming across as a bit of an ego and calling your manager on shit like that gets you nowhere.

Seems to be a bit off the rails to be honest, i'm still pissed about his comments after the United game.

Charlton aren't really doing to well at the moment are they? Everytime I catch their score they seem to lose.

I cringe when I see his tweets after they've had a bad result or when he didn't start/play. I accept that he's gonna be frustrated & when you go on loan you will be annoyed that they wanted you but then keep you on the bench most of the time - but publicly shitting on his manager's decisions is just unforgivable. I'm surprised Charlton haven't said anything to him about it to be honest, they must know (& mustn't be too pleased). It's just not on.

Still a better tweeter than Jonjo, though  ;)

Yes, he does seem to have an attitude. I appreciate that it can be frustrating to play well and still not get the chance to play but having an attitude in public isn't going to help at all.

Still, great skill and good movement off the ball. He might actually make it.

This. It also doesn't help that it's in incomprehensible, punctuation-free, ungrammatical prose.

If you're going to whinge and bitch and moan in public about managerial decisions, at least do so in complete, properly punctuated, grammatically correct sentences.
