That midfield for Napoli please, think they're about to go to another level as they're getting to know each other. Very promising today.

Good to see Fabinho getting into the swing of things though. The players are starting to click just in time for the December run. Very promising.

I think that was the test today. But at the same time, I doubt that we won't have fresh legs for Napoli, which might mean that Fabinho might miss out. Or be played as a RB?

Like anything, when a group of people gel together you start to see the rewards.

Our midfield today showed really strong signs of understanding each others game.

Very solid, I like the way his game is progressing.  Can't wait to see him take a few shots given his ability to strike the ball.   Maybe a screamer against United next Saturday?

I felt that the Keita-Fabinho partnership turned the game in our favor when Napoli was getting a grip on proceedings.

Still was excellent in the 10 mins he came on to lock things down.

Could be at right back if Trent isn't fit. We could be missing Matip, Gomez, Trent, and Clyne (who I believe is still injured). Depends on the extent of Trent and Matip's injuries. Even so, a back 4 of VVD, Lovren, Robbo, and Fabinho is quite good if we are missing four defenders through injury!

I know he can play there, but I don't think it'd be a certainty. May well end up being Milner or even Henderson playing there.

I think Fabinho may well prove to be a starter in the CL knock outs, especially away from home
Pretty happy with Arse taking it.

Henderson isn't playing RB over Fabinho who has played several years in that position.

I think it’ll be Milner. Only because Fabinho is still developing his English and Klopp might want to keep things simple (one position).

Agree with this..  Especially when he is just beginning to get to grips with our midfield requirements and beginning to look the part, I wouldn't want him to play RB at the moment.. Lets keep it simple for him..
Milner slots in at RB for me, given that TAA is struggling..

Back 5 of Allison, Milner, Lovren, VVD and Robbo are more than capable of shutting out the Mancs..

How about this:

                    Mignolet

Fabinho   Alisson   Van Dijk  Robertson

This would work too.. Allison's footwork as good if not better than Lovren..  Plus he's got a great leap and header on him.. Remember him cleaning out someone on the edge of the box with a monster header that VVD would have been proud of.. Don't remember if it was in the derby or Bournemouth..
As for the Mig in goal.. well nothing would get through to him with VVD and Allison in front of him..  ;D

Can he play CB? I know he's adept at RB, but looking at our squad pessimisticly with Gomez and Matip already out, if the worst was to happen and something goes wrong with VVD or Lovren, could he fill in back there for one of them? Or fill in for VVD against a weaker side to give him a break over Christmas.

It's kinda frightening looking at all the games coming up and only having Lovren and VVD as fit CBs. Makes getting rid of Klavan look a bad choice now, although I think it was him that wanted out rather than Klopp wanting shut.

Will we go for a CB in January as cover, if so who's on the radar other than De Ligt (who's pretty much pie in the sky I think)?

Klopp said no, because the injuries to both of the CB's are not long term, now of course if something happens to Virgil or Lovren in the meantime then that's a different story, but as things stand, we won't sign a CB for a game or two considering that both Matip and Gomez will be back in January.

Very unlikely unless either Matip or Gomez suffer a fairly serious injury given they're both due back in January.

We don't need to worry about whether anyone else can play there unless either VVD or Lovren get injured.

Would actually work if we ever had to be in a low block but in all seriousness, the way we play, not sure how Allison would be in the pace department...he seems reasonably bulky - par for a goalkeeper but might not work as an outfiled player.

Should try this in an exhibition game sometime
