Haha Jayden Fckin Danns - a week ago I'd never even heard of him and there he was tonight lifting the ball over the keeper like Kenny in the 78 European Cup Final.

Well done to all the kindergarten Klopps. Koumas looks like a 60's scouser - you can just picture him queuing up outside the Cavern, or the Boys Pen to see Hunt and St John etc.

Southampton were really impressive as well. Russell Martin has them set up really well although everytime I look at him, he reminds me of that ad with that guy who has curtains.

He’s the most talented lad in our youth system for me and that’s probably backed up by Klopp having him on the bench quite often and giving him minutes tonight. He looked confident on the ball tonight and just lacked some strength really as he got knocked over a couple of times. When he fills out into an adult body he’s gonna be a star.

Yeah they played very well and risky too but at least they came to play like Luton did.

Love that progression of who is even classed as a kid

Harvey started the season as one, then Quansah, then Bradley came in as a kid, now all practically veterans, then Clark and McConnell but now they’re not anymore cos Danns…but now Danns isn’t but Koumas…but now here comes Nyoni and that’s an actual kid!!

That was a perfect night really.
Valuable match experience for a number of young players.
Senior players rested ahead of a big game on Saturday.
Klopp knows he can use these lads in big games also.

Not really he said our side was good and if we missed the chances they did we’d be abit annoyed too.

I guess he was being careful not to launch into his team as end of the day their goal is promotion as they have no chance of winning the cup.

Thought it was a disgrace that Nyoni came on. A complete joke that.

I mean, I can't be having players that are literally one third of my age coming on playing for us. It might imply that my dream of putting on a red shirt and scoring a winner might have gone, which couldn't possibly be true.

Brilliant from the patched up reds. Thought harvey was impeccable that second half and grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck. Superb goals from Danns particularly the little dink. Loved that.

Dunno what McCoist had been drinking tonight but was talking absolute pish all night. Usually enjoy his commentary. It was like he was scripted as though he was watching our first team yet we had the academy on the pitch. Spouting facts about our escapades this season as if it had any relevance to that side.

Yep hats off to them, they came to play football - no diving, feigning injury, time-wasting, clogging, trying to get our players booked, or leaving a boot in etc - which is a very rare thing for an away team at Anfield these days
