Why would Kenny change the side that has been winning? It's not like kuyt has been playing good football...his passing has been pretty poor, even by his standards, while Henderson has shown he can play very well in a passing system.

I'd rather maxi than kuyt to be honest. Don't like players that have trouble keeping possession.
a year ago i might have agreed but kuyt has been playing very well and has improved that aspect of his game, dont think he has any trouble keeping posession
if you wanna be the best you gotta beat the best

I'll make two predictions of this...Carroll won't score 3 PL goals total for the rest of the year and we won't score 5 against any team all year.  We might still get CL football without either happening.

I believe that we'll continue to build on the past two games.  2 - 0 Liverpool.

On a side note, I'm thinking of screwing the hurricane and going to the NYC Liverpool bar.  Not sure how I'll travel the six miles back after the subway and buses shutdown ...

                       Reina

Kelly       Carra       Agger      Enrique

                  Lucas
                          Adam
   Maxi                                 Downing
                     Suarez
                       Carroll

I see Kuyt coming in for Carroll, Hendo for Maxi, and possibly Spearing for Adam.

Because Kuyt has been one of our best players since Kenny took over, and had an amazing goal-scoring and assist run in the second half of last season?

Henderson hasn't shown he can play very well in a passing system for us yet, his performances have been decent at best.

Kuyt had no trouble keeping possession in the second half of last season. Only trouble he had was scoring and setting up tonnes of goals.

I'd be happy with that.

Looks good, but right flank would need some defensive cover from Lucas. I guess Kuyt is the safer option there, but Bolton ought to be worth attacking

Kenny will play who ever is playing well at the moment and maxi had a good game mid week and scored yet again. Maxi is probably one of the best players in our squad when it comes to reading attacking play and in particular suarez's play. Its no coincidence that maxi went on a scoring run when suarez was on the pitch most of the time direct assists from luis too.

Rewatch the Arsenal match... A number of Dirk's turnovers resulted in counterattacks for Arsenal. Henderson turned the ball over rarely. He is very, very good at completing easy passes, something that Dirk has always struggled with. I think it's wonderful that Dirk scored so many goals at the end of last season. I really do. It helped our side win matches. Maxi also scored in bunches after the arrival of Suarez, though. The x-factor there is Suarez.

Like I said last week, I'd prefer Dirk coming of the bench, and I think that is what will happen, but I'm really not bothered with who starts. Lets just get the 3 points.

maybe Kuyt is part Tulip or something because it's almost as if he only blooms in spring.
in any case, if Meireles was fit i'd definitely have chosen him for a 4-3-3, but since he's unavailable i'll go for either Maxi or Henderson.
the rest of the team pretty much selects itself :

                 Reina
Kelly - Carra - Agger - Enrique
          Lucas - Adam
Hendo/Maxi - Suarez - Downing
                Carroll

in hindsight, this line-up is fluid as hell and could be anything from 4-4-2, 4-3-3 to the 4-2-3-1 as depicted.

I love the fact now people are having headaches deciding who to put in their starting lineups. Maxi or Kuyt or Henderson on the right? Kuyt upfront? Maxi on the left? Adam starting? etc

All this and we have Meireles and Gerrard out!

Gotta love having a good squad.

I'm looking forward to this and I reckon it's going to be quite an attacking style coming from both us and Bolton. All of our players are going to have to have an excellent game and I think it'll be a matter of us having to outscore them as I see them getting a goal after their recent performances.

I think Kuyt/Maxi will start ahead of Henderson and this isn't me criticising Henderson, I just think he'll need a rest and we'll need someone to do a bit of running.

Reina

Kelly - Carragher - Agger - Enrique

Lucas - Adam

Kuyt - Suarez - Downing

Carroll

Subs: Doni, Flanagan, Skrtel, Henderson, Spearing, Maxi, Ngog.

We've played scrappily so far but got results despite the performances.

This time I really want both the result and the performance. I'm having no problem with pciking our strongest eleven, it's pretty obvious IMO at the moment apart from Henderson or Kuyt on the right. Course that's until Gerrard comes back and causes us some selection headaches.
I'm really hoping Sturridge busts out the wacky dip when he scores.

If they come to play their game I think we will beat them, if not easily, at least without having to bite nails at the end. If however they come to harass us in midfield and not give us time to pick passes then it will be more worrying as we have yet to show we can deal with that the way a team aiming for top 4 should be able to.

Need to keep the intensity and pressure for 90 min at home. We could, should have blown Sunderland away but perhaps tiredness and lack of concentration and immaturity got the best of us. This shouldnt happen again and I am sure Kenny would take care of that. Need Henderson to get involved in the box more and support the strikers. Kuyt to come off the bench would be better option IMO
The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.

Henderson & Maxi to hopefully come off the bench. Spearing also if we use a 3rd sub. Kuyt to play a full game his workrate and fitness is what we need and he's yet to really play with Suarez this season.

Exactly. Other than that, I am hoping to see Carroll on the scoresheet, and a good display from Downing would be positive too.  Hopefully we'll see Enrique today in a more attacking role, than in the first two games. Especially, if we go one up early.
Let's see whether the cameras can spot Coates from the stands today. Prediction: 2-0 to us, Carroll and Suarez. Come on REDMEN, up the hill!
