I know, I know. It is effectively over. The Tannadice faithful have already had their pitch invasion.

But tonight it could really be over as Dundee United must simply avoid defeat at Excelsior Stadium to unequivocally secure the Scottish Championship title and promotion back to the Premiership.

In United’s path stands Airdrieonians, who could delay the inevitable for tonight’s visitors – whilst lifting themselves back level on points with third-place Partick Thistle – by picking up a win this evening.

Dundee United need only a point to secure Scottish Championship title and promotion

Donnell replaces Todorov for hosts

Moult on bench for United, Wotherspoon starts, Mochrie off injured & replaced by Tillson

Yes, it was already effectively over. But now it is beyond all doubt.

Jim Goodwin's men are heading back to the Premiership at the first time of asking!

Falkirk are the new invincibles. Went the whole season unbeaten. Came back from two nil down today, without a fit centre half in the squad. It's been a fantastic day after years of misery.
