He probably springs up in one fluid motion before jumping on his skateboard and disappearing off. I’d be phoning mountain rescue to come and pick me up.

I did a bungee jump once (and only once) years ago in New Zealand. I was fine watching everyone else do it, up to the point where they tied the cord round my ankles and then everything went to jelly. On the video I got afterwards (I said it was a long time ago!) I look like I’m being talked down from trying to jump, I’m grabbing on to the beam of the bridge as I shuffle to the edge. Such a weird experience, can’t say I’m in a hurry to do another one.
