That's my point i find it hard to believe only a 100 of the 1000 only bought tickets.

And 900 tickets would have been unsold in the Tuesday guaranteed sale?

Who knows, they probably thought they could still sell them on

And they get refunded anyway so nothing to lose by chancing it

Clearly many of them could not prove they existed.

No, I am talking about the twice yearly members' sale.

Ok, but you said no members sale tickets will be able to be bought, even though there are late availability members sale tickets on for the rest of the season

What you mean is the bulk sales

Confused with that.

You’re simply not able to do the fan update if you haven’t attended 13+ from last season, in the exact same way you can’t buy a ticket in the 13+ sale if you’ve not been to 13+ games from last season. It doesn’t let you. And my boyfriend who hasn’t done the update had no issues getting in to Sheffield United at home which he bought in the members sale.

Sorry, I am talking about the twice year members' sale. No doubt they will bring it in for other credit holders at some point.

Ultimately everyone seeking to buy any ticket will have to go through the process.

Correct - apologies for the confusion. We have used 'members' sales' in the meetings as shorthand for the bulk sales.

So I’m guessing in a nutshell  x amount had to do the update . certain number attempted the fan update and failed.  Another certain number didn’t attempt the fan update, from both groups certain number bought tickets for Utd

But those who didn’t try should have meant tickets remaining?

Numbers don’t add up, I’m guessing people from both groups bought tickets. I’m guessing there will more drops etc. Especially when touts apparently lost lots of cards which had credits

I don't know I didn't buy in them but looking at it later in the day after the 13+ it appeared more than 5,000 tickets had gone.

Sorry, long day today and short fuse with people.

Distilling what we know, we know for sure that only 13+ members have had the opportunity to do Fan Update so far.  All other members have been able to continue to buy without doing Fan Update (as evidenced by RebeccaLFC's post at 18:57:23 above).

The number on 13+ is either 5,000-ish or over 8,750.  (The latter being necessary, for 80% of it being greater than the 7,000 figure quoted by the Club as having done Fan Update last month.)

Maybe the 7,000 figure in the 3 December entry here https://www.liverpoolfc.com/tickets/fan-update-blog is a typo for 4,000.  (4 and 7 are next to each other on the numeric keypad.)

That would make sense because most Fan Updates were probably done by then.  The final number could have been just over 4,000 out of 5,000-ish total.  The 1,000 shortfall gives the 20% figure the Club are quoting today.

Of those 1000 (who all bought 13+ tickets last season), just 100 bought in the November sale and 900 didn't bother for what is a very high-demand game.

Those of us on 13+ were competing with 900 fewer people in the November 13+ sale.  I fear the Club will use this as justification for reducing the threshold from 13 to 7-ish games to get the number for the guaranteed sale back up to 5000.

It would be good if Graham can get the Club to release the actual numbers:

1) On 13+
2) On 13+ and completed Fan Update

Yes me! I logged on and there odds and soda popping up then disappearing. Actually if we go back on the thread of members sale that day .. there should be a few comments left from people that afternoon.
Defo not 900 left and that’s the supposed minimum!

Let's keep it simple.

If you have not done the Fan Update you will not be able to buy a members' sale ticket.

Tying yourself in knots here Graham  ::)

The Fan Update was for members on 13+ only, not all members. That is fact.
We’ll still finish in top four - and they won’t. You can quote me on this in May.

At the risk of getting my head bitten off . . . . .

After years of complaints the club are doing something. Maybe not enough, maybe not as transparent as it could be. However at least it's a start. And some tickets are going back on sale.

The reason most organisations don't do things like this is often that they just can't win, so they don't bother. At least this is a start.

I don't have a dog in this fight. Our family has two STs in our own names so not done the update yet, and three have Member Cards on 13+ our own names who did the update okay. We're not expecting this to shake out more Away tickets but you never know, at least it's better than sitting here for the next ten years complaining about the same old same old.

And thank you Graham for trying to keep us updated on all this, and for presumably giving your own time to represent us, despite attempts on occasions for people to wilfully misunderstand what you are saying in good faith!

Found one which states just that and the comment is from as early as 12.00 which is very early. This would suggest they went quicker then ever before. Also read the session open that day were record breaking so no touts scared off at that point!

Fair enough. Is that the whole basis of your complaint though? That 1 single post from someone going into a sale they didn't qualify for, hoping to see the whole ground green for their own sale the following day, and being disappointed there weren't any Kop tickets available?

2000 of those 5000 won't have the maximum credits and will be 'normal' memberships.

You have to do Fan Update to even have a chance of buying a ticket. Normal memberships that have not gone through the process can't buy tickets - or if they do they won't get in.
By 'normal' do you mean under 13 credits? Rebecca has confirmed that those under 13 couldn't update yet. Sorry if I'm being thick, just trying to work out how many are on 13+ credits!

There are definitely a lot more than 5000 people on 13 games. If 900 of those that didn’t buy for United had decided to buy, then the map would barely have 100 seats. We haven’t even considered that some people who passed fan update may have not bought for United either.

Always wonder why people buy the back of the anfield road lower seats when there’s others available. Especially when you’re 13+ with a decent choice

You got emails to tell you that you passed Fan Update.
and
If you check your Purchase History the tickets from second bulk sale will now show as 'Upload', which means your card will be activated.

My issue with the announcement is the 20% is not clear.  As it is not 20% tickets available.  Why not do two announcement one to say its complete and 20% did not complete and a second saying that a certain percentage of those that didn't complete are going back on sale.

Its been done so it looks like there is a 1,000 plus tickets going back on sale.  100% misleading.
Is that an apology?

1000 did not do the Update who could have.

Of that 1000, 100 bought United tickets and won't get in as they have had the sale cancelled and those 100 tickets are going back to GA.

Just 100?

I've never been so excited reading the news announcement to feeling so sad again reading this.

13+ is a guaranteed sale, so if 7000 qualify they need to make 7000 tickets available and you can assume that 99.9% of those that qualify will buy.

At least 10000 tickets are sold in the bulks for each game. If we assume that there were roughly 1000 tickets left for United in the 4+ sale (that’s what I’d estimate from the availability map I posted) then roughly 9000 would have bought tickets. (9000-100)/0.8 gives 11,125 members on 13+, as 20% of them (minus 100 within that 20%) didn’t buy tickets. This doesn’t seem right, considering that 13+ is guaranteed. Can anyone explain to me where my calculations are going wrong.
