Anyone else on the 10.10 WCS flight from JLA? Back 12.50 Sunday. Had a text with times that says tickets will be sent tomorrow.

Quite happy with the TC flight times - 3:30 going but coming back 6 so plenty of time after the match finishes to get to the airport and enjoy the early morning if we win!! Can't wait - never seen a week drag as much as this.

The 5times flight is leaving LJLA at 5.50am which is decent. However they reckon they'll be leaving at 2.45am after the match, it's going to be tight that!!

Yeah I'm on that one would have liked a 5:30 departure but the return is a good time so I suppose we can't have everything

Means if you're on a late plane - you've got somewhere decent to wait.

Note that the shuttle buses from Shevchenko Park after the game are only for Borispol airport. My flight is from Zhuylany Airport (IEV), and we have to make our own way there from the ground. Traffic and taxis will be a nightmare I imagine. Google maps reckon it's 1.5hour to walk if it comes to it

Can't sleep, off to Warsaw tomorrow, then night train to Lviv on Thursday , early (6 am !) "express" train to Kiev on Saturday getting in at 11.

Mate of mine arrived at Borispol last night. Although there were currency exchange places open at the airport, none of them will change pounds into local currency - only accept euros. Luckily he had just enough euros to change to get a taxi to his accommodation.

Does anyone who got to Kyiv early - or someone with local knowledge - know where's the best place for him to head out to today to exchange pounds?

Main street in the city apparently has some exchange places for pounds.

Only up to a certain size. Anything above will need to be deposited, as per the UEFA leaflet.

I'm awful at dimensions and don't own a measuring tape. I'm guessing a normal rucksack size is fine according to their leaflet?

Have a mate who got let down for a ticket and has been on the hunt. He's sorted now but was offered a batch of fake tickets for £50/each.

They are pretty much identical from the short video I saw - hologram and even the perforated outline of the cup looked pretty spot on. Please be careful guys.

Read online on a couple of sites that you could NOT use the Revolut card to withdraw from ATMs in Ukraine but tweeted Revolut and they said the card is fully operational over there.

I've got the card and loaded it now anyway, so hoping it works.

not a video as such but there is a story in the echo about some fella buying a fake

Looking at the pictures there are a few things you can check against.

The hologram is rubbish on the fake. its just colourful. the real tickets have UEFA printed four times once on each edge of the hologram.

where the image of the stadium comes onto the white background just above the hologram the fake fades quickly and the edge of the stadium shape doesnt get completed. the real one obviously does.

The fake looks like its printed on bright white paper, really clean looking. the real things seem to be a bit off white (not got a real one in front of me anymore to elaborate on that) - may just be the photo appearing that way so wouldn't rely on that in any way!

it does look like they've had a good stab at the perforated cup image on the fake though in the top right hand corner.

i'd focus my attentions to the hologram i think if trying to make a call on one whilst in Kiev

Can i simply go to an ATM or Change Bureau with my Lloyds Bank Debit card and draw Ukrainian currency.

Don't give a fuck about getting better exchange rates etc. Just want to get UAH with my debit card at the airport!

I think it said 3-6am originally when we booked but then the other week we were told it would be a bigger plane and departing 9.30am, then the text last night said 10.10. Think it was the second available Liverpool flight they put on, the day after Roma away.

I'd give them a call if you've not had a text or email yet.

Yes you should be able too. I am planning on doing this (but with my Natwest Visa debit card)......might take some sterling as back up just incase.

Useful guide if stopped by the police to see what they should be doing.
