Those prices were from a tripadvisor post in January this year.

If they hike the taxi prices up to rip us off even further remains to be seen.

Cheched a more recent tripadvisor post saying that's exactly what will happen . Taxis will be arrinving from wide and far to cash in on things apparently.

First class is probably not that much either but I didn't look. 

That's if you book direct onto a Ukranian train, not sure if you can book online or need to buy at station.  (I'm not using these, I was looking it to it at one time).

I'm getting train from Warsaw and couldn't book online on the above (well, if you can I couldn't work it out).  You might be able to book online as it's not international.

If you can't book online on the above, and you don't want to take chances paying at station, you can book via these but more expensive (but still very cheap compared to our own trains - they also charged for delivery after the online price)

One of the blokes who runs the sports side rang me yesterday to confirm membership numbers said that they won't get confirmed flight spots till next Tuesday and will email customers with details on Wednesday

I used Uber for Roma away and it was the same app as the UK one. Not sure if Ukraine is the same but would assume it is.

Just done a mock UBER from airport to city and its come out at about 8 quid

I'm prepared to pay double that on the day to be honest. A 45-60 min journey is a long way in a cab to be fair.

Yes it's the algorithm that jacks the prices up - the prices go up and up until the demand levels off and then they start falling again. I expect it'll be better to negotiate rates with the local taxi drivers given the likely demand for Uber.

I negotiated a lower rate with our Uber driver who took us back to our hotel - I asked how much to the airport and he said with or without Uber which surprised me. It worked out cheaper than us getting a train so went with the Uber driver for a non-Uber journey! Not sure Uber would be impressed but always worth asking them the question.
