Liverpool Football Club tonight confirmed they have agreed a fee with Chelsea for the sale of Fernando Torres.

The player has now been given permission to speak to the London club.

I idolised you for the past 3 and a half years, stuck up for you when the whole country was throwing poison your way and held an affection for you that many shared as we labelled you a different type of person in a cruel world. And that's it, it's a cruel world. Thankfully, I still have my red family and will never walk alone and that's one thing you'll never, ever have again. I don't think the rumours are a million miles away from the truth. He left because he didn't think the owners would be able to invest at the level he wanted/expected. He also didn't give them a chance to do so.
