Has anyone got footage of their number three today, minutes before our penalty, with a shockingly bad dive? Firmino put in a challenge and was setting up a counter from our half, and was furious with the ref cos the dive was as obvious as that Martial one.

They showed a replay where he flopped down like a fish, which triggered some silence from the commentators who had claimed it was a foul

Do you mean the one where Neville said Firmino had been naughty, or had left a nasty one on him? Something like that. Then the replay shows the lad diving and silence ensues.

It's the drip, drip, drip effect.   To them, If they say it enough times, it permeates everyone's consciousness, and becomes truth.

The more often you tell a lie, the more easily it's believed.


It's getting quite sinister now, as it only seems to be Mo taking the brickbats, and everyone else going to ground easy seems to be deliberately sidestepped, and conveniently ignored.

Didn't see the game or watch MOTD so had to put up with SSN this morning on ref watch when we got back home. Fucking Danny Mills, what an utter thundercunt. Agrees it was a penalty but said Mo did a massive exaggeration to get it. Did he fuck. Gallagher said the ref could and should have blown earlier, so there is your clue Mills, you baldy gobshite. When you are trying your hardest to make space and being fouled and fouled and fouled and no whistle, your only option is to make sure the ref sees you go down.

What pisses me off is that people now use the word 'dive' for anything. To me a dive is a Kane, Alli, Young, etc, kick your own foot and go down under no contact whatesoever. Going down under a challenge to make the ref aware you're being impeded, however it looks, is not a dive, it's just maybe at worst going down softly. Mo looks like he's going to ground softly sometimes because of the way his arms flail a bit, but he's always being fouled and the way you fall under a challenge should have no bearing on the foul being given. Yesterday's foul should have been given far earlier than it was while he was still on his feet bit he's clearly realised how inept our refs are and has to make it more obvious to them. But when you're being fouled and you go down, it's not a dive, whatever pricks like Colin Wanker may try to say. I mean, he's even said in the same sentence that he was being held back but has dived, what the fuck? Anywhere else on the pitch and there's no discussion.
