Whilst a superb footballer, and a smart guy. He'e entirely incorrect - there are two distinct phases in the game one where you have the ball the other where you don't. When you don't have the ball winning it back through tackling is a technique.

that's why England are shite, cause they carry on picking big name players no matter whether they're fit or not, and now their selection of Gerrard could be costly to us.

Rafa used to not pick him or Torres when they were unfit and got a load of shit for it and brave Stuart Pearce is ok to pick unfit ones.
