I had a quick look at the list of directors on our website and it is just that, a list. That's despite the fact that one - a certain Sir Kenny Dalglish - has rather a lot to boast about on the football front. The nauseating stuff about Kenwright on their website is irrelevant to football and, along with his need to have his mugshot on the outside of Goodison Park, a perfect demonstration that they have a grade A narcissist at the helm.

Surprised Uncle Uzzy isn't on there...

Danjuma is great news, completely average player who couldn't even get in Spuds team, they already hate him for dumping them and first bad performance (of which there will be many) they'll rip him to bits

Yup, another player who's played for club that got relegated (Bournemouth), they really are getting prepared over there and signing the missing mentality bargains.

Funny thing about Danjuma is if Spurs belled him right now I'm convinced he'd be on his way back to London

They still go on about the "limbs" when Sigurdsson scored against us in the FA Cup, in a game they went on to lose 2-1

Two of the players from defence and one from midfield that helped them narrowly avoid relegation are gone, and they've signed a 38 year old full back/winger only so far, I think they'll have a worse season this time around.

Because of the game today, Nigel Adkins posted this from 1983/4. Tranmere's Ray Matthias Testimonial, Rovers v Everton FA Cup winners.

Easy quiz. Who's the late ex-Red now a Blue in a Tranmere shirt?

Wigan 0-1 Everton

Wonder if the Everton board were talking to the Wigan board today?

Wigan Athletic will be deducted four points from the 2023/24 Sky Bet League One table. This is due to the club failing to pay its players’ wages on time in May 2023 and further to previous breaches of EFL Regulations. The club has also been given a second four-point deduction for next season after failing to meet an English Football League funding deadline. This means the Latics will start on minus eight points in League One for 2023-24.

Nearly an upset, but Everton couldn’t quite force a winner

Wondered why Everton played Wigan and Tranmere...

Manager Sean Dyche is not present for Everton’s first domestic friendly of the summer at Wigan Athletic as he is watching an Everton XI face Tranmere Rovers instead.

Everton’s senior side take on the League One Latics at 2pm while a more youthful line-up consisting mostly of Under-21s players went ‘across the water’ to take on their League Two Merseyside neighbours at Prenton Park.

The Blues boss was not in charge of the team at Tranmere, with usual Under-21 manager Paul Tait in the visitors’ dugout but Dyche was eager to cast an eye over some of the club’s prospects.

Everton officials say it was always the plan for Dyche to go to Tranmere Rovers rather than Wigan Athletic with his Wirral-born assistant Ian Woan and Steve Stone leading the team at the DW Stadium.

The move ensures Dyche won’t see Ashley Young make his Everton debut but then his new gaffer is already well-versed in what his first signing offers, given that he was his Watford team-mate when he made his senior debut almost 20 years ago.
