He must be about the only person on earth who thinks that.  ;D

That’s what surprised me, seems like one of the most down to earth guys on tour.

Personal highlight so far is Butch getting Finau and Fleetwood mixed up, slightly different looking fellas there butch.

Scheffler into the trees and hits middle stump - might get away with it though.

Åberg gets a birdie!

Tell you what, Fleetwood playing well, just not holing anything.

I wonder what we (amateurs) would score on this course. I remember playing the Brabazon years ago, that was tough.

Hardly. Aside from the occasional total disrespect to rivals (walking across lines when they're about to putt, excavating his own bad lies in rough) he's also known (on very good authority, from this side of the pond) to be quietly unpleasant and rude to staff, particularly the younger and inexperienced. The true sign of a prick IMO.

I play off 4, and I’d be happy to break 100 on there in tournament conditions ha the greens would be brutal.

Slope rating seems to be 148 - so you'd be getting 9 shots. Doesn't sound a lot does it?

I know nothing of Scheffler’s character, but he just has that similar slack jawed simpleton look that Michelson has meaning I can’t warm to him. I hope he’s a lovely bloke.

Wow, Scheffler with back to back birdies after the bogey.  What a shot there on 9.

Meanwhile, Morikawa, who had just made his birdie in forever, is in heaps of trouble at 9.  Looked like Collin was in good shape after his shot at 8 and after Scheffler's bogey on 7, but how quickly things change...

There are stranger things, like 'Damien' becoming a popular name after the 'Omen' film series. All the kids at school with that name seem to be little shits!

American golfers and Australian cricketers are very much of the same breed in that regard. I was quite disappointed watching full swing and realising that players I didn't like because of their smarmy look on the golf course were actually quite nice, down to earth blokes ;D

I’d burn through that in about 2/3 holes. Makes a big difference if playing from the exact tournament conditions these guys are, as opposed to members tees which I’ve heard are lot more forgiving.

The fucker doesn’t miss greens does he. Could really do with him finding water on one of the holes or I fear he’ll have too many opportunities to pull away to not take a couple of them.

Seems a combination of it all!  Landed it in the perfect spot.

And now just used the spin well on his approach on 10.

All around very solid.

Seems a very good ball striker with his irons. That approach into 18 yesterday was probably the best into that green, so clean.

Aberg and/or Homa are going to have to get it off Scheffler over the last 8 holes, as I don’t see him giving anything away now.

Aberg’s fucked it up at 11.

Amazing listening to Faldo, remember watching a you tube lesson with him. He was saying those sorts of shots with water left, you hit a 'stock' fade. He showed how to plan and execute it too.

McIlroy came across as quite embarrassed with his performance in that interview. Is it just that the expectation for him is too high now? He doesn't seem to have arrived here in any sort of form, yet is one of the favourites. I heard he hasn't won a major for 10 years.
