I am on the 21:10 out of Manchester on the Tuesday night. I'm strangely hoping my flight is delayed taking off by about 30minutes so I can finish streaming our cup game.

I've watched games on Emirates before now but I can't see that Qatar show any live footy on their planes which is a shame.

Have you spoke to them about changing the flight times?

Anyone been to Doha and know the best cheaper pubs to go to as apart from being bloody expensive for a bevy most other stuff like accommodation and tickets seem reasonable!

There won't be pubs mate. You'll either be in hotel bars or you'll be drinking at the fan park they've said they'll set up.

Just cancelled my trip!!!  ;D ;D ;D

Yeah, noticed that but see there's some restaraunt bars at the waterfront or port area? It's hard to get much info on the place like is the Metro running to the stadium from the city areas? Is the fan park at the stadium?

The Metro will be running, and connecting all the venues. The majority of the licensed bars and restaurants are in the West Bay area of Doha, inside hotels as others have mentioned.

As things stand the Metro is NOT working yet from the airport, its expected to open later this month according to Tripadvisor

You would think that something like having the Metro running would be a top priority with the thousands who will be in Doha for this showpiece tourney and with the whole world watching?

Got mine sorted cat 1 semi, cat 2 final, but took over an hour to get through and work properly. Ticketing portal is shite, just keeps kicking you off before they go in your basket. I was starting to worry when it said nothing available but they keep putting more up.

For those that moan about the LFC ticketing site, you should try buying on the FIFA one, shocking to say the least.

Couple of pointers for anyone travelling to Doha.

Taxis plentiful...not too expensive......most 5* hotels have a bar of some sort....prices similar dubai.

Golf club has good club house sells beer....Rugby club sells beer......

Loads of places to eat...

again we show the pull of Liverpool Football Club

Harsh on the South Americans though. I hope an allocation has been held back for them

I looked back on wikipedia and couldnt see a genuine sell out in this before. always a few thousand short of capacity

Good to know and see the golf club is next to the stadium for our games?
Happy hours seem to be the best bet normally 6-8pm
Is there going to be a fans BOSS night?
Uber is the way to go apparently

That's a different golf club - Education City Golf Club is the one next to the stadium. Doha Golf Club is the one that is licensed...

Yes, Uber is common, and there is a similar one called Careem. There are loads of regular taxis too.

No. Semi and final sold out. My mate is after a final ticket but can’t get one. Qatar Air still advertising tickets with flights but says subject to availability. He doesn’t want to book to be told none available.

Qatar Airways sold out last week, it took them 4 days after I’d booked my flights to find this out as they couldn’t work out why I wasn’t able to apply for a match ticket  ::) blatant false advertising though as it’s still all over their website. Sorted through mates as well as the FIFA general sale though so all good.

Yeah everything I've read suggests it's not all complete yet but hard to work out for sure.

I'd agree you'd think they would want this working for this world cup trial run wouldn't you?

Do we know which bits work and which do not - as if the stops are not near the hotels then taxi will still be better for most.

The Red Line of the Doha Metro is already open, and runs through the city centre. DECC station is near to the Marriott Marquis hotel, and less than a 10 minute walk from the Intercontinental City hotel.

The Education City stadium is on the Green Line, which is due to open imminently. It will connect to the Red Line at Al Bidda and Msheireb stations.

Some of us going on Qatar Airways might get tickets from them as well as the club ones we got, so there might be a few spares around, ou never know. Depends of QA actually give us tickets as advertised!

We'd already booked our flights before they brought the offer out but we did apply with our booking number etc. We weren't sure we'd get tickets though, or that they might give us SF tickers, even though we only fly out on the Friday, so still applied via the club.

Not sure when we'll find out but doubt we'll be the only ones with "duplicates" if the offer pans out. Three of us. So it might offer some hope to some on here you missed out.
