That double top hit from Jenks at 14-14 was just brilliant.

Incredible bottle there.
So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

Agreed. What were the finishing averages? Jenkins must have been up near 103/104 surely and Anderson can't have been far behind. Amazing stuff. I can't see the next game being as good though.

That interview with Anastasia Dobromyslova wasn't great viewing which is a little surprising as usually she does alright in front of the cameras.

Also got the name of her fella wrong as well.

Marko Kantele (Finland) v Lourence Ilagan (Philippines)
Charles Losper (South Africa) v Sudesh Fitzgerald (Guyana)
Remco van Eijden (Holland) v Anastasia Dobromyslova (Russia)

1st Round
Phil Taylor (1) v Steve Grubb
Michael van Gerwen (32) v Darin Young
Roland Scholten (16) v Carlos Rodriguez
Kevin Painter (17) v Matt Clark
Wayne Mardle (8 ) v Fatum/O'Connor
Wayne Jones (25) v Robert Thornton

James Wade (3) v Brendan Dolan
Tony Eccles (30) v van Eijden/Dobromyslova
Colin Osborne (14) v Losper/Fitzgerald

Phil Taylor (1)/Steve Grubb v Michael van Gerwen (32)/Darin Young
Roland Scholten (16)/Carlos Rodriguez v Kevin Painter (17)/Matt Clark
Wayne Mardle (8 )/Fatum/O'Connor v Wayne Jones (25)/Robert Thornton

If Rusty Stewart is anything like he was when he played the Embassy a few times in the 1980s then I'd get the ale in. Lots of it. Was a class player. Good to see him back.

See Anastasia has got in the Worlds and joined the PDC circuit. Interested to see how she does. I think Barry Hearn and she knoiw it will garner column inches. But how will she fare when the carnival moves on?

Also rumours that six players gonna leave the BDO system after Lakeside - Anderson, Webster, Fitton, Waites, O' Shea and Whitlock are the names that keep cropping up.

Also rumours that six players gonna leave the BDO system after Lakeside - Anderson, Webster, Fitton, Waites, O' Shea and Whitlock are the names that keep cropping up.

I think Hearn's predicted that he thinks 6 will make the switch?

I've always been led to believe that Webster wanted a crack at defending his title and wanted to continue with the plumbing for a little longer and then planned to come over so I'd imagine that that will happen after Lakeside.

Anderson said in an interview the other week that he was looking to treat his Darts as a business rather than a hobby after January which would leave you to assume that he's planning on coming over. If that happens then I'd expect Gary Robson to follow.

If either of the above are Lakeside champion then expect it as Hearn will offer the PL wildcard to them and I can't see either turning that down.

Fitton and O'Shea's a new one for me and if one goes then the other will probably follow though I'm not certain that Fitton was all that impressed with the crowd noise in Wolverhampton and

Waites (who's not a bad bet for the Lakeside as he's chucking well) will come over as I think Brian Woods will as well as he looked in awe of things down at Wolverhampton for the Grand Slam.

Whitlock's supposedly moving to Stoke next year and guessing by the way that Taylor was talking him up at the Grand Slam, he'll be having a word in his ear and it wouldn't surprise me if Taylor stumped up some of the cash for Whitlock to have a crack at doing the circuit.

For me, Anderson, Robson, Webster, Whitlock, Waites and Woods.

Hes a much better player now! and yes a true gent, although I didnt think that when he told me his flight lands at fucking 6-20am!!!! haha

Yep and a few people I know aren't happy at all, so much so that they are possibly seeking legal advice about it, they play on the tour all year long to get a place at the Worlds, and just because this las is fairly do-able and can throw a fair dart (nowere near as good as shes being made out though) they give her a place for novelty!!

Barry has predicted 6 will make the switch, but if you count Anastacia and Remco van Eijden then theres two already,
I spoke to Gary Anderson in October and he has every intention of joining the pdc but not yet, he is still under contract with the bdo for another 2 years, if he leaves it will kick off big time!
Whitlock will be over, Taylors offered him a sponsorship deal.
Webster, O'Shea and Fitton are probabilities!
That will leave the bdo with Adams and Hanky,
Sinking ship anyone? :D

Will Anderson care if it kicks off if he was to leave? Rumours suggest that he was far from happy at being scheduled on stage for 10am on Saturday despite being the top seed where as number 2 and number 3 had call times after 1:30?

How come you didn't bother with Telford at the weekend? Unless I've misread the website, I can't see your name anywhere.

Anyway, early prices that I like for the Worlds.

Tony Ayres @ 13/8 against Andy Smith.
John MaGowan @ 6/4 against Mason.
Ovens @ 1/2 against Maish.
Matt Clark @ 7/4 against Painter.
Walsh @ 2/5 against Caven.
Young @ 7/4 against van Gerwen.
Nicholson @ 4/5 against Gray.
Laursen @ 6/4 against Newton.

I want to get involved with two qualfying matches but I'm not saying anything until I see some prices.

Its a different kind of contract, in the BDO if you get to the semi final or better of Lakeside your under contract to play there for the next 3 years! Merv King had the same
The contract that Anderson has is different, hes there biggest asset, they lose him and there going even further down the pan.
This is why Anderson hasnt walked by now, and to top it off if you wanna put any money on Lakeside, put Gary to lose first round, hes drawn Wagner, and hes on fire at the moment.
Whitlock will win Lakeside and then switch.

Was deffo gonna be one of my picks that. Not really heard much about how well Roland has recovered from his shoulder op and whether he's got any proper match practice in having not played competitively since the European Championship, I think.

Weve got a few suprises in store for Pauls walk on, going to try and get the crowd on his side after the Grand Slam!

Me and my mates were at the GSoD first day, got behind Paul in his match against Anderson. Mainly because we thought it was comedy at how riled he managed to get the aled up "oooooooo ar' yer?" brigade with his Terminator-esque walk on and "shushing" of the crowd :D

Roland hasnt recovered at all from his injury, but because of the way the rankings work, hes defending money, so he needs the 5k to help with points, he will lose 3-0 though so lump on it!!

Yeah weve got a few suprises in store, new walk on music and lets just say the glasses are staying........

Wasn't Mervin King "under contract"? And has the BDO ever tried to enforce one of these contracts? The BDO may well be wary of taking legal action because of the real possibility that its contracts would not be enforced because they're unreasonable restraints of trade (i.e. they restrict the semi-finalists' right to earn their living in the way that they choose), and the consequent risk that they would go down for a huge costs bill.
If a man who cannot count finds a four-leaf clover, is he lucky?

Different contracts apparently though I was set to attempt to make the same point.

Has anyone been able to get a bet on Carlos - Scholten? It seems that the major bookies have shut up shop on this match and won't take anything on.

Also Manley @ 4/7 to beat Mensur Suljovic -  :lickin

Rodriguez is best priced 4/9 on William Hill, Scholten is available at 2's with a couple. Only 4 making any offers at the moment, though, whereas lots are taking bets on Manley's match: http://www.oddschecker.com/other-sports/darts/pdc-darts-world-championships/manley-v-mensur-suljovic/win-market.
