Saw Blancmange last night.
Sadly Stephen Luscombe wasn't there as he has been diagnosed with an abdominal aortic aneurism, with complications.
So it was Neil Arthur (Singing - with no Guitar), Pandit Dinesh on Drums and Graham Henderson on Syth/Keyboards/Technical gizmos.
Was quite a good gig - not too sure about their new stuff (They did about four songs from their new album). They obviously have spent a while remastering and 'improving' the songs, but I'm not sure it totally game off - I used to like the simplicity and the guitar work they had. But it was still good. They did quite a few classics; Living on the Ceiling, Don't tell me, Game above my Head, Blind Vision, Waves etc. and Neil Arthur was in fine voice.
They had some technical problems too - the gig was being run by an Apple Mac which crashed three times. Forcing Arthur to do three solo accapella numbers including 'See the Train' that he forgot the words to (As he said - he listens to other people's stuff - not his own and it's been 25 years since he sang that last)
Missus enjoyed the gig although she admitted it wasn't really her cup of tea.
