I love Laura Marling's version of Red Right Hand, she has a great voice for that song. I wish they'd make a longer version of it.

Proper shredded that there. ^^^
Nice playing.
Thank you very much Terry, when it comes to music I respect your opinion more than anyone else's on here.

I recorded him doing another one which I'll put on YouTube in a few days, Still got the blues / Gary Moore.  It was another epic performance and I was in the street nearly crying, it was beautiful man.  :)

Thanks for posting that - fcking brilliant. (I always loved the gloriously chaotic Patti Smith version but that quite possibly tops it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2R5lcZFWEwg)

Some that spring to mind...

Bowie - Wild Is The Wind (at the time it came out I had no idea it was such an old song)

https://youtu.be/YsqlXkkEKxI?si=Ggec5bqUSRWz6gs1

Magazine - I Love You Dummy ( Devoto's earlier cover with the Buzzcocks was also reallyy good) with great added lyrics too. The Beefheart original is unlistenable imo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sH7APaIvqg

Specials 'Enjoy Yourself' ( by way of Prince Buster) cover of an old 40's song. Quite possibly my favourite youtube video, guaranteed to raise your spirits if you're feeling down. I saw them at Erics supporting the Clash as Special AKA, they were good then but not this good...

https://youtu.be/0t2spzlgCAI?si=EDYxums981HKhyU3

And one that ok isn't as good as the original but a fine effort nonetheless, capturing the DIY spirit of the time, with energi. Spizz hamming up Virginia Plain  ;D ...

Here's an interesting one, a fairly average original, followed by a stunning cover where the cover version is then covered with three classic versions of a song as a result. As good as it gets.

Wild is the Wind-Johnny Mathis (Original 1957)

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/v/Fede33vouyc" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">https://www.youtube.com/v/Fede33vouyc</a>

Wild is the Wind-Nina Simone (Live 1964)

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/v/rDuy874spGg" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">https://www.youtube.com/v/rDuy874spGg</a>

Wild is the Wind-David Bowie (1976)

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/v/YsqlXkkEKxI" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">https://www.youtube.com/v/YsqlXkkEKxI</a>

Wild is the Wind-Billy McKenzie (released 2001)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2wtJCDzVu0

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/v/A2wtJCDzVu0" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">https://www.youtube.com/v/A2wtJCDzVu0</a>

For those of you who are too young to know who Billy McKenzie was, he was the (unique) lead singer of the Associates (early 80s), he died in 1997 aged 39

I love that song - when Janis sings ' I'd trade all of my tomorrows, for one single yesterday' it's heartbreaking, knowing that she was dead by the time the record was released.

I listened to Pearl a few night back. She even covers Bobby Womack's Trust Me brilliantly. Such a loss.
