Just saw on his highlights that he takes corners with both his left and right foot. I don't remember another player that has done that before.

Excited to see him hit the ground running. Class player imo, will only get better under Klopp.
The biggest problem anywhere in the world is that people's perceptions of reality are filtered through the screening mesh of what they want, and do not want, to be true.

That's wild - love that. Didn't know that when I thought he looked pretty confidently ambidextrous with shots the other day, bodes very well. Think the full backs are gonna enjoy linking up with him.

Haha love that. Trent has to be about the most down to earth calm* world class player in the business. Top man.

*(except for the pressure he puts himself under to succeed)

Cody seems a funny and smart guy, hopefully helps him settle in as quickly as Virgil did.

Cody in Red

I've never seen you looking so dangerous as you did tonight,
I've never seen you shine so bright, you were amazing,
I've never seen so many defenders want to be there by your side,
And when you turned and passed, it took their breath away,
And they have never had such a feeling,
Such a feeling of complete and utter loss, as they do tonight;

Cody in red is counter attacking with speed, week on week,
There's Darwin and Mo there, it's just you three,
It's where the opposition want to be,
But they'll lose to this beautiful side,
And never forget the way you played tonight;

....ahem.
I ll pretend this never was written.

Dumb question from someone who doesn't speak Dutch, is Gakpo pronounced "Hak-po", like Gouda is "How-da"?

Depends. It's not a Dutch name so there's no specific need to pronounce it in the Dutch way (Khakpo), but of course he'll be used to it being pronounced that way so you could say that's a reason to do so.

In its original (non-Dutch) form I think Gakpo in the English way would be fine

I hope he hits the ground running as I am skeptical of attacking players coming from the dutch league, seem to always struggle. Hopefully Cody isnt one of those. Seems to be a sniper in front of goal with his placement and is two footed which is nice, plus his height

Wouldnt be shocked if Klopp tries to mould him into playing RW and the Firmino role which he kind of played for Netherlands

Journos are lazy bastards these days, really piss me off. This is from the BBC. 30 seconds on the PL Website would tell them that this season, the 1st and 2nd are classed as working days, so we can register him on the 1st by noon to have him eligible

Liverpool play Brentford on 2 January, although that game could come too soon for the paperwork to be sorted that would enable Gakpo to make his debut.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64117885

All clubs have the ability to register new players to be eligible for Matchweek 19, which starts on 2 January 2023, as long as they submit the required completed documents by midday of the last working day before their match in that round. This season, 1-2 January 2023 are considered as working days

https://www.premierleague.com/news/102378#:~:text=All%20clubs%20have%20the%20ability,are%20considered%20as%20working%20days.

This is a brave new brexit world. He needs a work permit too, and the home office is probably pretty busy sending empty planes to Rwanda.

That would have him just a little over 6' 2" if that was the settled value.

Liverpool could welcome back injured trio for Brentford as Cody Gakpo update given

One player unlikely to feature, though, is latest signing Cody Gakpo, with the Dutchman's registration not expected to be completed in time to train with his new team-mates ahead of the match.

"If I worked in the (registration) offices then I am early awake so I could sign these papers at 6.30 in the morning, but I am not too sure that will happen," says Klopp. "It must be before 12 and on top of that he is of course not allowed to train with the team before the papers are signed.

"Technically he is still an Eindhoven player (until then). There is a chance, but I don't know if it's really there."

Do we have any news on how tight the registration was, and whether Cody Gakpo is now eligible to train with us? Is he likely to be available to make the squad on Saturday?
