Holiday Inn booked.

Looking to book hotels today, was Holiday Inn the best deal you saw or just convenient and price effective?

I always book the Finals well in advance. As they are always cancellable. This way it is both convenient and cost effective.

Anyone know how easy it is to get from Hanover to Hamburg? It looks like it's only about 80miles away so I'm guessing by train it should only take about an hour and half. I've got an option on a flight that gets in to Hanover midday Wednesday so it seems ideal if the onward journey to Hamburg is straightforward.

Excellent thanks. Seems like there's a train every 20 minutes or so and takes between 1hr 15 & 1hr 30 depending on the service.

go on www.bahn.de its the german rail site you can book tickets at special rates

or if anyone is thinking of using Bremen Airport

https://www.bus2fly.de/

If not traveling alone to use public transport is the better option.

DB timetable

http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en

From: Bremen Flughafen

To: Hamburg

and select as means of transport "only local transport". Than you can use the Lower Saxony Ticket (Niedersachsen Ticket). Covers not only the trip to Hamburg by tram + regional trains, but also all local public transport in Hamburg. This ticket is valid:

Mo-Fr: from 9am till 3am next day

Sa,Su: from midnight till 3am next day

Lower Saxony Ticket Single (1 person) EUR 20,00

Lower Saxony Ticket (2-5 persons) EUR 28,00

best option i'd say as we all know flights will go silly, ferry not as cheap as i though it would be but still a good price if theres a few in with it.

Assuming of course that we get there, and assuming that I get a ticket and can get the time off work, I'll be driving it.

Down to Calais Tuesday night, Calais to Hamburg Wednesday morning, match, kip in those woods you can see next to the stadium on the Google satellite map and then drive home on the Thursday.

Sorted.

Would you be going on your own or with your lad?  My lad will nearly be 9 and he desperately wants to go but I think he's too young for a final abroad.  Plus he probabaly won't qualify for a ticket!!!

With him, wouldn't consider going without him even if the mrs let me.

He's been to all the homes as well as me but not much chance of the sale going down that far.

All assuming we get past Atletico of course.

Jesus Christ, it really is not that hard, don't even need to think too much outside of the box for that one.

Phil that idea sounds good but to be fair the way back just puts me off big time, and for the same price I have my flights and accomodation all sorted.
