A lot of that has to do with where he picks the ball up,he's also the one that tracks back the most.

Partly, but he's also guilty of making really bad passes too often.

I'm a huge fan of him but he's well off his best at the moment. But his work rate, as you point out, as well as his clever movement into pockets is why he's getting picked ahead of Nunez.

Liked the energy Jones brought to midfield, he’s still clearly rusty but does show how actual legs in midfield can help.

Can't see us dropping anything from here, these are awful.

Another grating reminder that this goalkeeper, who has to be the worst starting GK in the league got MOTM against us in a ridiculously rare defeat at Anfield  :no

I think there probably comes a time eventually when we need to play Salah on his natural side more. Him on the left, Gakpo and Nunez in a staggered middle, and Diaz from the right. Think the time for inverted wingers is drawing to a close.

Not really and if you  did all that you;d be changing Salah and Diaz's best positions.  ;D

If this is referring to the handball, it's a valid goal. It's been the rule for ages.

It's not really a valid goal, the ref should pick it up. It's just one where VAR won't get involved. It was a handball.

If the Trent handball gets given in real time you can't complain but it's not deliberate so obviously VAR can't rule it out as it not directly before goal

Someone explain to me how that 1st was not handball?

Think we can win by 4/5

Because it was fired at him from close range and his arm is in a natural position. It only gets checked if Trent scores the goal straight after without passing anyway. As he didn’t put it in there’s no check.

Tbf i've not seen it as I haven't got a working stream but the match commentary on here insinuated it was a valid goal.

This is working great all half.

The ball was hit at Trent at close quarters and wasn't deemed deliberate.

Oh come off it, man. Every single Liverpool fan would be appalled if we were on the receiving end of that decision. Make no mistake about that. The second phase thing is a total nonsense too. It was a handball all day but I'm obviously happy it went in our favour.

Trent in the middle is nice to see. Looks a little cautious so far but showed a nice range of passing and a great piece of play for the assist.

Quite like to see him on the ball at the edge of the box, he won't hesitate to have a pop at goal

Yes it gives him the freedom to pass left or right over their defence.

Leeds aren't very good, to say the least, so not really sure what to take away from that half other than it's nice being up 2-0 at halftime for a change.

We've had enough shite decisions go against us in recent seasons so it's nice to finally have one in our favour.

Leeds look like they've given up, if we can get an early goal in the second half to fully put it to bed I'll be very happy.

Genuine question because he's been turned inside out again but who replaces Fabinho next season as we surely cannot go into the season with him first choice there?

On 9 yellows now (7 in the last 9!) So the more pressing question will soon be who replaces him this season?

We've spent a good week working on Man City's system. Seems to be working quite well. Pep might know a little about football.
It's a fairly cautious adjustment. It's giving us more control (and helping with the counter press), but not particularly in creating chances from phases of possession. It might give us a bit more solidity to end the season on, but doesn't (yet, at least) feel like a long term solution.

Bit of a weird half. Had the bulk of possession and until the goal we looked a bit lacking in confidence though Jones was busy and Hendo trying to make some overlaps/give a bit of width etc.

Surprised the goal didn't get ruled out as usually the officials don't need much of a reason to blow up against us.

Mo took his goal really well.

Genuine question because he's been turned inside out again but who replaces Fabinho next season as we surely cannot go into the season with him first choice there?

Can only remember one time Fabs been taken on to be honest, he's played well

That first half an hour or so from Jota was absolutely brutal. At one point he had 13 turnovers having only found a teammate 10 times. Fair play to him for still showing throughout because a lot of players would have hid.

Weird seeing the number of people on Twitter and in the media that don't know the rules. VAR doesn't bother checking a handball in the buildup to a goal unless it was by the goalscorer. It's been that way for a while. VAR literally cannot get involved.

Is it a shit rule? Sure, but it's what the Premier League have decided.

Agreed. For me Trent moved his arm towards the ball.

He didn't. It's an absolutely natural movement when the ball is smacked at you from close range.
Go out and have someone smack a ball at you. I absolutely guarantee you will instinctively turn your body exactly like Trent did.
