England bowl first.

It’s overcast and humid.  I think it’s not a bad toss to lose

Must of been a tough call to make. Pitch looks green, though apparently quite dry, and the overhead conditions makes you think have a bowl. Hope it’s the right one!!

You make it sound like England had a choice?

Eh? I’m talking about the NZ management and Williamson deciding to bat, if they won the toss

First 10 overs here very important, early wickets key for England.

Every ODI at Lord's since #CT17 has been won by the side batting first.

But four of the last five men's World Cup finals have been lost by the side that won the toss...

They bowled well here versus Australia but didn't seem to have much luck, perhaps the famed Lord's slope had an influence?

Going to have a new world cup winner before the day is out. Best of luck to both.

Hoping for a NZ win though. Heart says NZ will win, head says England.

For the first time in many years I'll be hopin for an English victory, sure they have a decent team but I am really impressed with Eoin Morgan as ODI Captain - calm and measured but very quick to see whats happening and make the needed adjustments.

One down, but being reviewed. Did it pitch outside the line?

Not out.

Neither did half the England team judging by the replay of them watching review on the big screen.  Root looked stunned.

Football could really learn a thing or two about VAR if they watched cricket,  I was convinced that was out but clip, clip, clip and it correctly gets overturned. Some process.

Looked out to me, didn't think it was too high. Weird, extra bounce, is it something to do with the slope?

would be typical if guptill actually got some runs here after the tournament he's had.

as much as lord's is a fantastic place, I'd have been happier had this game taken place at almost any other ground in the country.

Guptill has been out of nick all tournament.

Just England’s luck that he looks like he’s found some form today.

Guptill was always going to get a big one today after the tournament he’s had.  He’ll probably get 15-20 odd with inside edges.

If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.
