Would like to see Babel involved too, but let's play Pacheco and have Babel as a more experienced backup on the bench if we need him. I don't want to see a whole team of reserves as it serves little purpose. The best thing for the new players is if they are surrounded by more experienced ones.

I wish it were but it's not. At least not from how Hodgson uses it. I do remember reading some pundit early on arguing that they're not that different but in practice they've turned out to be much different, to wit 4-4-1-1 sucks whilst the 4-2-3-1 has the potential to be a potent formation both offensively and defensively.

Anyway, as people always say, in real life players do move around quite a bit and the effective formation is often nothing like the original or official formation.

Both. Soto would be a good choice, if Pepe wasn't playing but Pepe deserves the armband.

It's pretty obvious pepe is considering his options. Roy should be doing everything he can to persuade Pepe to stay starting by making it clear we want to build the team around him and Torres.

This is much more positive for the youngsters, Pacheco is named so that should give him a boost and it uses Ngog as an example how good performances can put you in the first team squad. Much better Roy, at least the guys have some encouragement that they aren't just "the B Team"

given the world of difference between his "live" interviews and the planned ones (.tv etc) I'd say he atleast has points on what he's going to talk about, important bits and to not talk about anything else at all even if it seems like a good idea
