Time to bombard his Twitter and Instagram asking him to keep 66. He will make it iconic.
It’s already iconic. And every year he keeps it, it gives deeper significance to the mural. Such a shame if he gives it up. Keep it, and let the club retire the number after you win the. Ballon d’Or Trent!

I am thinking about best passers of the ball in recent years, Alonso, Gerrard, Benayoun, Salah and Kewell and I think Trent is right up there with Alonso. Maybe not yet a playmaker but his range of passing may have already surpassed Alonso's.

I'm really intrigued as to what you consider a "playmaker" to be. What does Trent have to do to become a playmaker? When did Alonso or any of the others you mention here ever get 25 assists over 2 seasons?

Having won the Premier league, Club World Cup and Champion League at the age of 21, incredible.

+ losing a CL final year before and league with 1 point. If he managed to win also those, he would already be an all time legend :D

If he wasn’t promoted to senior England squad so young he would have won the U-19 World Cup as well on top of his titles with Liverpool.

Illustrious for someone so young.

Really a proud moment for him and our club .

They really need to have a think about who should qualify as a young player - Grealish turns 25 in just over a month. I'm surprised Saka was overlooked.

But the winner could only really be Trent, he's just in a class of his own and has the medals to prove it.

On a different note, I would like him to take the #2 as well or keep #66.

Funny that you say that - if Greenwood had played more or earlier the Mancs and certain parts of the media would be making that very case.

Neither 2 nor 3 would do it for me.  I’d rather he gave up his current England shirt number and changed it to 66 for consistency.

Or wait a few  years...Take 7 when Millie retires.

:lmao. Completely unintentional. I just think 7 suits him more than 2 or 3!! But in all seriousness I hope he keeps 66 forever. Too many stories attached to it now, and it says something about how early he became indispensable to the team.

I for one recon he will keep 66 especially now with the trophies won with it.

Here's a little story regarding the circumstances.

Yeah, read that story back in April when it got published. I think even people within the club are still expecting him to ask for a new number at some point. He hasn't really confirmed (publicly) whether he intends to stick with 66 until the end of his career or not. The speculation will probably continue until he says something about it. Personally, it would be a shame to see him a different number from the one on the mural.

FIFA 21 has had to remodel their game engine to simulate the type of game physics needed for Trent's crossing.
New crossing feature introduced.
FIFA the game does research a lot of crossing shooting techniques for decades now, and to find something new is a compliment to Trent I think.
