Nothing less than Rafa deserves, one of the top men in football.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

The toon can get their hands off our Rafa song though.

3rd team, no?

Burnley and Norwich got automatic promotions after getting relegated, no?

EDIT: Nevermind, Norwich beat Boro in the playoff final, you stand corrected.

Love seeing a happy Rafa!
You're not kidding.

What a man he is.  1st of all for coming here, then for staying when we were down, and now getting us back up straight away.  Fuck knows what the future holds, but boy ohh boy I'm really looking forward to it.

You's have a trip to St James' Park to look forward to next season and it's going to be great playing Liverpool, Man U, Arsenal and all the rest of them again . . . . no derby with the Filthy Mackems, but I'm not bovered    :)

Thrilled for Rafa. Absolutely adore the man! Newcastle were criticised a bit too much this year in my opinion. Aston Villa and Norwich are nowhere near and Newcastle are up with 2 games to spare. Okay yes they spent a lot of money but how many times have we seen a complete clusterfuck of a team emerge after a club buys loads of new players. Looking forward to seeing him back in the Prem, assuming he stays!

Chuffed for Rafa, chuffed for the toon. Far too big a team to be languishing in the Championship. I just hope that the club gives Rafa the proper backing he needs to reinforce the side and keep them in the PL. That side played some good footy this year, way better than a lot of the shite currently occupying the Premier League.

Just not too fucking good next year though la ;)

Pretty mad when you look at the league table.

Newcastle +40 GD
Reading +1 GD
Huddersfield +2 GD

Would have been absolutely crazy if either of them scraped above Newcastle
Was looking at those GDs the other day and wondering wtf.

Well in Rafa

Instead of activating the break clause allowing him to leave Newcastle in the event of relegation, Rafa chose to sign a three-year contract.

"The love I could feel from the fans was a big influence for me," he said in May 2016, upon signing his new deal.

"This is a huge club and I wanted to be part of the great future I can see for Newcastle United".

Really pleased for Rafa. Almost on a hiding to nothing there in some quarters. A few weeks back I caught a game on Radio5 and there was this fella scoffing about him getting them back there at the first ask. 'Well, of course he should have done...' etc. They did keep a few players I agree, and they were out for big name in January - bigger than most other teams could begin to attract anyway, but that's a hard place to come out of. Everyone says so... EVERYONE. Every year. Repeated, ad nauseum, but there's a need to give him a kick with some pundits.

In 3rd place are Reading with 13 loses. 3rd from bottom has 19 losses. Compare to the Premiership, 3rd from top has 6 fucking losses, 3rd from bottom has 21. They may have been favourites, but you've still got to do it. Done well to keep much of them together, the aim was to get promoted immediately, and they've done it. I wonder if anyone will do the same next season? (arf)

Pleased Brighton are coming up too. Oh the joy last year seeing Boro, Hull and Burnley come up.
