No first Ali get's a push , then an elbow in the face and VAR say's that okay. Then you have a knee high challange on Jordan that could have ended his match and it's not even a yellow.

Only justification I’ve seen for that not being a red is that he didn’t mean it, because he slipped/bounced off the ball. That means fuck all, it’s still a red. Clearly not in control if he’s bouncing off the ball.

The Liverpool skipper hits the turf and hasn't moved.

Cresswell may be in trouble here...

Thought VAR might have a look at that for a red card as Aaron Cresswell caught Jordan Henderson the knee with the follow-up.

But Cresswell escapes any sanctions and Hendo is back on his feet.

Just awful incompetence from the ‘best league in the world’.

It’s already a struggle to play against 11 plus the on-pitch ref, to have to then contend with a 2nd one just turns it into pure unwatchable nonsense.

Regarding the Cresswell challenge. Pawson saw it, of course he saw it, he didn’t give a free kick because he knew if he did he’d have to send him off. There was no way he was making what he thought would be a match defining decision after 8 minutes. Arguably he made one after two, but to him Liverpool ought to be good enough to overcome an early goal, so let that stand. West Ham might not be good enough to to play for 82 minutes with 10, so there’s no way he’s giving it.

Atwell also saw it, he had to. But he made the same calculation. Too early and it might have to big an effect on the game.

The worst thing is, you see that performance, you see how dreadful it is and you say to yourself “you know, I don’t even think he’s the worst one we’ve got”. That’s how bad the situation is in this country.

We lost because collectively we were every bit as bad as Pawson and Atwell, but that shouldn’t let them off the hook.

Yeah it was just a little tickle, that’s why Cresswell kept going over to check if he was ok.

If he’d hardly touched him he would have been telling Henderson to “fucking get up yer prick”. Cresswell’s reaction was a dead give away, he knew he’d gone in too hard.
