mike ashley is probably the best thing for rangers to be honest, he will get rid of all the expensive players and give them a set budget short term it will suck but long term it will probably be the saving of rangers. he wont care if they dont make it out of the championship this season purely coz he now has the keys to ibrox.
Good for the company....
Has apparently already said they can only spend what they take in, and he is also not happy with Ally's salary (runour is that he didn't take a salary cut after all).
Won't be so good for the team....
Players will most probably go, performances will suffer, then it will all depend on what the fans do!
If they go back to the attendance levels of pre 'Rangers spending other peoples money', it could become a vicious circle.
Just thought...
I wonder how much of the Ashley 2 millions pounds loan (due for repayment in 6 months) is left now that Wallace and Nash have gone?
I am assuming they wouldn't go without some kind of pay-off!
Few more thoughts...
Where will the money come from to pay off the 2 million loan?
If he underwrites a share issue and ends up having to buy what isn't taken up, that will put him over the 10% agreed by the SFA.
If he ends up as a majority owner in both NUFC and RFC where does that leave him with the English FA?
If both qualified for Europe it becomes a nightmare, bit of a stretch, but if both got into the Europa cup, one club would have to stand down. Try explaining that to either set of fans.
A lot of people seem to think he is ONLY after the IP rights.
What happens between now and the end of the year could be very interesting.
