Kebab shops generally have good chips more like fries. Straight out of a freezer straight cut shite!
Fuckin love fries, prefer them to the fat things you get in Chippys.

Where in Liverpool can I get mushy peas? Actual mushy peas that are...well...mushy? Not just processed garden peas from a tin, heated up and stuck on my dinner.

Yorkshire, it's full of the horrible green slime!!!!!

No contest, I live in York and bring my 9 and 12 year ols back to see my mum who lives in Frodsham Street near to Woodison and the best chippy in the Scouse Hemisphere has to be Lynn's on City Road who packs enough chips in a large portion to feed a small African nation for a week and they are nicely browned and shaken till all the fat drains off. (healthy version of chips!)

Lynn remembers me from when I was a kid (I've been up in the Devil's country for yonks now) and always asks how I am getting on, hows my mum etc and her customer service expertiise would put The Apprentice knobs to shame.

Lynn came over from Hong Kong many moons ago and as like most of the chippy fraternity of Liverpool works more hours than us lazy bastar*s would ever think of or contemplate to make a living and I hereby declare Lynns chippy to be ......... the best chippy ever!!!!!!!!! (Thaaaaank u and good night!!!!!!

Further to my earler post may I add that York has a distinct lack of Chinese chippies so think yourself blimmin lucky!!!

All you get here is:

FISH

CHIPS

MUSHY PEAS

NEWSPAPER

SALT

VINEGAR

and think thaself bloody lucky!!!!!

(Oh but they do have "scraps" which is not a form of fisticuffs between Heckmondwike and Cleck Hudders Fax Scallies but the leftovers of the bits of fish (tight bu**ers won't give nowt away)!!!

Oh how I miss chips/rice/curry sauce!! Boo Hoo!!!

There's one on Bedford Road that does gorgeous fish, only been there a handful of  times and always had fish and chips so can't talk about anything else but the fish is fit

Got a feeling it's not open that late though, I've always been lunchtimeish

Not Liverpool but if you're in St.Helens & are hungry, I recommend a trip to Chipmunk in (Higher Parr Street) Fingerpost. Very very tasty indeed.

Tough shit wool!!

I have never and will never ever be a wool I thaaaank you I was born in Walton Hospital (Wolly ossy) and lived on Goodison Rd then Hawthorne Rd Brutal until 15 years ago when I found true love and the call of God to York I hasten to add that my accent is sill there for all in Yorkshire to ridicule and even my offspring have a bit of twang to their voices as in Half Man Half Biscuit.

Thank you for your sympathy at my self imposed exile from Non Wool land

There again where does wooly back land start and finish? My mate in Old Swan believed it started and ended at his garden gate!!

Chris used to spend 6 months here and 6 months in Cyprus with his two lads running it in his absence. Even his lads are hardly there now and its just not quite the same.

After 4 years away at uni I have decided that Liverpool is the only place in the country that knows what a good chippy is all about.

I go down south (and up to Sunderland) and the chips are raw, they have no idea what proper gravy is and their idea of curry sauce is some florecent shit thats got currents and apple in. Oh and I go in and ask for a chip barm and they look at me as if I've flown in from another country and slapped them on the face. What the fuck is a cobb?

My first day back in Liverpool after 15 weeks away and the first thing I have is a bag of chips, large sauasage and a carton of proper chinese curry. I'm in heaven. I'm never leaving again

What does everyone order when they go the chippy then? Do you believe in the classic fish and chips or do you invent your own little meal??

I only go a couple of times a year when home. I go for classic fish and chips or Chips and Gravy  :lickin

They  do battered fish here in Holland Lekkerbek or Kibbeling but the batter is different and it's mayo of course  rather than malt vinegar.
