Think i'm gonna swerve the "mini festival" thing and wait for the arena tour.

Heaton Park is going to be full of divvies walking around dressed like Ian brown trying to resurrect the early 90's.

Awesome that they're back together though, I know it won't be the same as when they were in their pomp but these are definitely on my list of bands to see before I die.

Can't wait.

sounds like an absolute fuckin nightmare to me....legions of fat balding Mancs trying to recreate the days of getting off their tits by getting off their tits
They have life in them, they have humour, they're arrogant, they're cocky and they're proud. And that's what I want my team to be.

Squire will bail out before the end of the tour is my guess. It's always the way with the bands I like. Guitarist walks out due to disagreements with singer/co-songwriter. Noel/Oasis, Coxon/Blur, Butler/Suede, Barrett/Floyd, hell even DeLonge/Blink-182 and Ryan Ross/Panic at the Disco in my pop-punk/emo phase. I'm cursed.

I'm unsure why it's taken so long to announce anything, quite looking forward to find out.

It's one of the reasons I decided against paying the ridiculous ticket price.

Yes! I hadn’t  heard the album for years but it still stands up.
The artwork, the attitude, the tunes - good times.

I prefer the 2nd album to the debut.

I prefer the 2nd album to the debut.

People say this and I can understand preferring the sound / style of the 2nd album, but there just aren't enough quality songs on it. The 1st album is consistent quality all the way through, the 2nd one is half a great album, but the other half is distinctly average.

I know all the reasons why they lost their way: too much money and drugs, problems with their record company, family stuff, personal issues between them, etc. But what I don't get is why Squire ended up writing basically the whole 2nd album. He gets criticised for overdoing the guitars and his drug use, but he seems to be the only one who did any work. What the hell was Ian Brown doing all that time? His songwriting contribution to that album was virtually non-existent. If anyone's to blame for the album being a disappointment, it's him. In fact it seems like he's the one who caused all the problems in the band. His attitude was way out of proportion to his actual talent.
