Anybody getting Leeds tickets this Monday?

I've already bought mine for this year (in the Christmas batch). Can't wait though. The Strokes and Muse look almost a guarantee to headline. I've seen Muse before and they're absolutely class. As for The Strokes... they're only my favourite band of all time. Would kill to see them live and it's finally happening this year by the looks of it. :D

Green Day? Doubt it. Also, MCR are confirmed for T in the Park, so there's a chance they may not make the lineup.  8)

Not heard any Daft Punk rumours myself.

I've heard Muse on Friday, Strokes on Saturday and MCR on Sunday (for Reading). Lineup/tickets released on Monday so we'll find out soon enough anyway.

Can anyone recommend me a good festival (preferably 3+ days) somewhere in Eastern Europe. Never really been over that way and fancy giving it a go. Something that's not too dance orientated and nothing too massive.

Cheers.

Doubt you'd want Exit festival in Serbia then? http://eng.exitfest.org/

Exit is a bit dance heavy though innit.

There is a Balkan Brass Band festival which is supposed to be a good laugh

Yeah, yeah smart arse!

I'll have you know that I'm very down with what's hip and the young people and the peeps of today and whatnot that's going on. *throws gang sign in the air*.

I was being serious Macco, Balkan bands are a fucking buzz.  Imagine the Grimethorpe Colliery Band on Crystal Meth playing Dutch Gabba house.  I've been to Balkan Traffic which is a three day rave in Brussels (with brass bands) and we have actively considered going to the big Serbian festival Guca

This year it is the 50th Guca Trumpet Festival so a great time to go.

Bollocks. I've just realised that I forgot to go to The King Blues on Saturday night. I also realised a week too late, that I forgot to go to a rescheduled Gogol Bordello gig earlier in the year, having already had the tickets for it. What is wrong with my fucking memory?!? ???

Went last year and going again this. Fucking great little festival.

Correct answer.  Don't go. It's shit and it always rains.

On the other hand it is wetter than Atlantis on a rainy day and the bands are all tiny little ones only boring indie geeks have heard of. STAY AWAY!  :P ;D

Yeah, been twice, 1st time 3 years ago(i think) the rain was truly biblical, absolutely unbelievable, still had a good time though. Went again last year and it was much better, they've really started to pack the punters in though, not sure if they've increased the capacity again this year.

Went last year, loved it so much I'm going back this year, can't wait to see The Cure, even if you don't like the main acts you will have a great time in all the various dance tents at all hours of the night/morning or sitting under some magic tree on a tree stump, watching a theatre group having a pint (yes that really did happen) whatever takes your fancy. You won't regret it anyway its boss!

Just make sure you make an effort on your fancy dress costume, cos you will looke like a weirdo if you don't have one.

They haven't increased the capacity, think rob da bank had too many complaints that the festival was getting too big.

That's good to hear and not surprising, heard lots of people complaining about it. Finding somewhere to pitch up was an absolute nightmare last year even though we arrived at a decent time on the Thursday, the campsites were just too crowded, must've been wandering around for about 2 hours!

Anyone got any tip/tricks for smuggling alcohol into the arena areas of festivals? My best are a couple of cans 'gooched' in the crotch of my jeans, calypso drink packets re-filled with whiskey and a hip-flask down the wellies. Looking for more ideas to save me paying £4 or whatever for a can of warm Carlsberg!!

Take the bag out of a box of wine and shove it down the arse of your trousers. You'll need to take a bit out so it isn't too full but it you get it right your belt should hold it up and a remotely loose top will cover it. Box of wine and you're sorted.

How could I forget the classic wine/cider bag out of the box then down the trousers.

Heading up to Watkins Glen International (a Nascar racetrack) tomorrow after work for Phish's Superball IX festie.  I'm so pumped for this.  They will play 7 sets over 3 days!  Plus they basically build an entire town area for their festivals (this is their 9th festival).  Incidentally, Phish are the originators of the one-band festival.

This week at work has been so unproductive, because all I can do is think about how much fun this weekend is going to be.  Tonight I basically finish up my packing/preperations for the weekend.  I'm gonna need some chemical assistance with sleeping tonight ;)
