http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_against_nature

A crime against nature or unnatural act is a form of sexual behavior that is not considered natural and is seen as a punishable offense by law. Sexual practices that have historically been considered by some to be "crimes" against nature include anal sex, bestiality, incest, miscegenation and necrophilia. Other examples include heterosexual and homosexual fellatio and cunnilingus, other non-procreative sexual practices, or procreative sexual acts in the wrong position or without procreative intent, even between married couples.[1]

"Crime against nature" is a legal term used in published cases in the United States since 1814.[2] The term is also used in dozens of countries and several U.S. states. It is sometimes also used as a synonym for sodomy or buggery.[3]

The usage of the word "unnatural" in the context of "unnatural acts" does not carry the same meaning as "the opposite of natural", and says nothing about whether an act actually is or is not a product of nature (though that may be what is implied in a pejorative sense).

The Curzon in Old Swan.
See here for more pics.

I was passing through Town last Saturday and on the way out drove past the Carlton in Tuebrook. I'd stopped at the lights so managed to have a good look.
Tragic. The place where I saw my first film in about 1958 or so as a nipper.
It looks like it's been deliberately left to rot, and it has done.

Well I just sneaked in with my 20's/30's call - as it was built in 1936.
It carried the same name as me Grandad's frigate - HMS Curzon.American built and part of the lend-lease deal in 1943.

I don't know what the story is about these 1911 strike 'refugees', but it seems like a lot of people decided to go on one of those 'holiday excursions'.
Incidentally, they're waiting against the same wall that can be seen in the Gloucester Street shot further up this page.

Ah well I think I messed up a bit here. I was intending to finally do that one Tsar, but in going out today I dug the wrong photo from my folder of the same spot - possibly taken the same day though!

When I was a young lad, I was an apprentice for a heating engineering company, we had a job of refurbishing heating the cells below St Georges hall. In one cell there were loads and loads of old files of cases going back some years, one I read always intrigued me. A man had been charged and tried for committing "Buggery with a beast" in Castle Street, apparently he was caught shagging a dog
