Just have someone sit in the house, watching TV, living as normal

Apparently others that tried to rob Lovren were scared off by someone shouting at them they would call the police

So far over the top
tell that to david moores and steven gerrards mrs

someone sitting watching telly wont deter a gang.

i agree with others in that the players could easily afford it

Obviously shite for Sadio but in terms of security, you could surely buy a state of the art alarm/security system on their salary?
Loving Everton's business this summer. Here's an early call - they finish above Liverpool this season.

I see some people on the internet have used this burglary as another stick to beat our city with. No surprise, of course.  ::)

Thing is, this is far from a local issue. Just a quick Google came up with a PSG player being robbed in Paris and an Espanyol player being robbed in Barcelona. I know this has happened in Madrid and Rome amongst other places too. Wherever you get mega rich players you will find scumbags looking to gain off them in this way. Players of London clubs have the very same issues, as have Manc players. Basically, there are lowlife shitbags everywhere, unfortunately.

Yep. I'd have on-site security staff if I had big houses like these players do. The cost for your peace of mind would be peanuts compared to the money you'd be earning.

Both those incidents you mention were disgusting. If I were Gerrard I'd have had my more dodgy mates hunt those twats down and hammer them into next week.

What happened to Moores was horrific. I used to go fishing right behind where he lives and it's a lovely, tranquil place. Sadly, he won't ever fully regain his peace of mind again after that.

It’s not a question of the boys being able to afford security. Their only focus should be to play football not remembering to call for security to be there twice a week or whatever.

Club should sort this for them.

Your focus is to do your work when you're at work and not remembering to call security when you go in every morning. Your employer should sort security for you.

Agreed. They employ them after all and the club know they are high profile. Stamp it out and keep them sweet........didn't Di Maria cite it as one of the reasons he left OT, after he got done ? (yeah, I know not the main reason )

poor from the club not to already offer security to all the players houses if they are empty... they should do everything to prevent this from happening.

They did.....I did it myself. Looked after Skrtel's Carragher's Gerrard's  Dalgish and Rodgers gaffs. Not sure why its not done anymore as it was because of the first spate of organised burgalries my firm started to do it. Literally just house sitting and hourly walks round the grounds. Knicked a bag of sugar from Dalglish's kitchen so maybe they cottoned on.

Football without fans is nothing.

We've won 18 titles, 5 European Cups, 7 FA Cups, but today must be the greatest victory of all.

If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Nah in fairness you’re probably right, he’ll likely be rested for the early cup games. Interesting thing there would be if it’s Wilson himself getting the odd cup game, or someone else after we’ve accepted £20 million odd for Wilson in the summer.

Guys a poor finisher though and should be worried about his place in the team next year.  ;D

Hard to have a favourite player in this team because they're all so good but it's got to be Sadio. Anyone know what he went for with his celebration now that Bobby wasn't out there.
So bloody what? If you watch football to be absolutely miserable then go watch cricket.

He is too good and whenever we're not really clicking attacking wise I just wish we'd pass it to him more and let him run with it. Nothing more I love to watch than Mane skinning someone on the byline on his way into the box.
