I'd agree there was an article on LFC ladies on today's football focus and they made a comment regarding the popularity of the women's game in the USA particularly.
I'm sure that will have been a reason and I'm sure there will have been other reasons too, but the overhaul was desperately needed regardless of anything, so if you've got to do it then why not just go all out?

Isn't it Rebecca Lowe? She was at our match too against Spurs sitting in the Upper Centenary few weeks back in front of me.

(ignore - realised you said brown hair not blonde. Sorry!)

The team has been almost completely overhauled from the sounds of it. Hence the going all out.

When we decided we wanted to compete at the top we could have simply matched what those at the top are doing, but instead we decided to go one better than them. For example, as part of the overhaul we were the first WSL side to become full time, whereas Arsenal are still only training twice a week.

Yeah same here. To be honest I have only ever watched a couple of woman's games. From what I hear though, Lfc Ladies have gone to having one of the worst teams in the league to have probably the best team after being overhauled.

I played in a charity match a few weeks ago against another women's team, affiliated to a semi pro team.  Pretty good standard to be fair, but obviously below this standard we're watching.

I would think they're still classed as semi-pro but just happen to train full time.  Average wages vary massively between clubs and it's a subject which nobody really talks about it so I couldn't give you a figure. There is a wage cap in the league though so I can tell you that nobody is earning more than £20k a year for playing.

I didn't think it was a very good advert for the women's game. Some laughable technical errors that you wouldn't expect in a boy's match. I suppose commercially the move to boost the ladies' team makes sense, but I won't watch it again in a hurry.
