Thanks for that some brilliant memories and laugh out loud moments. There is one "one in a million" that I've been thinking about recently. I think it's the first time it's happened to us and it's never happened since. Remember Pepe Reina got penalised for kicking the ball from his hands outside the box? That always bugged me because he actually threw it from inside the box. But it really bugs because nowadays it looks like there's so many keepers doing it and getting away with it.

IIRC that was vs Bolton away. it was marginal at best - fucking VAR would struggle to call it -- but I've never seen it penalized since then although as you say. I've seen it dozens of times.

Me too. They scored from the subsequent free kick too.

What Pepe did was innovative - a brilliant piece of technique which allowed him to get his whole body through the ball and generate hard, flat trajectories on his 'punts'. The effing linesman hadn't seen anything like it before and therefore was not equipped to deal with the fact that Pepe's boot made contact with the ball a good few yards outside the box. So what do dinosaurs (and Tories generally) do when they see something they haven't seen before? They decide it's illegal.

It strikes me that Pepe Reina had some rotten luck at Liverpool. Remember the West ham penalty that was a double-hit and ended up chipping him? And then the bloody beach-ball at 'Roker'?

Bloody legend though, Reina.

Probably my failing memory... but Bolton weren't too far off them at the time - in terms of shithousery, Rafa-hating bullshit, and upping their game & flying in like lunatics vs us... then rolling over like puppies having their tummies tickled for the likes of Utd, Chelsea or Arsenal etc. No surprise Allardyce ended up at Everton later on.

Have you (or anyone else) got anything off them? Lots of old matches I can't find anywhere else but just don't want to be sending off loads of cash if I'm not going to be getting anything back.

Yeah, a few times for some rare matches and docs - always been happy with them.

It can take a 2/3 weeks to arrive (the discs even have disc-art on them - and are also well packaged and protected in post).
