Liverpool FC Forum / Re: Mohamed Salah - Best in the World *
« Last post by G Richards on Today at 01:19:21 pm »
Mo holds the cards. If he wants to stay and have a go at the Prem and CL next season, under the new manager, it would make sense from Mo’s perspective. He has declined physically, which is to be expected, but he is still a very good player.

The Saudis will still be there in another year, only by that time if Mo is on a free, he will pocket a large signing bonus, instead of LFC pocketing a transfer fee.

From the perspective of the club, I’d rather sell this summer to give the new manager a clean slate, and the ability to reinvest the fee on a player who will be here for a while.

But Mo Salah holds the cards.

The kids will love this new Home shirt.
Guaranteed you'll see it on many kids over the next year.

Actually looks better in the latest press shots. But still has some shocking detail.

Being realistic though - our 'all red' heritage doesn't make it easy on these kit creatives. Once in a while they're gonna have to bring out some 'radical' details just to mix things up a bit.
Welcome to 2024 and all that..

Hoping that the shorts n socks are very red!

Download the Citymapper app. It gives you the best routes and transport to take anywhere around London.

Not just in London it does it for a lot of the Metro areas within the UK and is hugely helpful for major cities around the world too.

What's the drill now? Will the confidence vote proceed? Can the SNP continue as a minority government? Or will there be an election?
I think there are two votes of confidence planned; one in Yousaf (which is now pointless) and one in the SNP government (which presumably still goes ahead).  Yousaf resigning has probably taken some of the wind out of the sails of those wanting another election.

So you're now saying Taylor must be biased against Liverpool. But Attwell is biassed towards Liverpool?

You have now resorted to not even quoting my post.

Epic trolling mate.

Your whole argument is laughable. Based on directly opposite theories. Firstly that referees are professional so their sense of professional pride and desire to be the best they can be rules out any bias whatsoever. Then you switch tack and argue these very same super-professional referees only make mistakes because they are incompetent.

Which one is it Yorky mate?

As for Attwell he isn't biased so much as absolutely terrified of making a decision or sending a Ref to the monitor. He is a 'Patsy' and that is why he is VAR for so many of our games. Compare Patsy Atwell with the Doku challenge to a foreign VAR with the same Referee yesterday in the North London Derby.

My sense has been that the SNP accommodated a very broad church, from people I might call centrist Tories to people all the way to full on socialists. Is that fair??

Economically pretty much. Sprinkle in a few very socially conservatives, even by the Tories standards.

I was referring more to the near future rather than the very next season.

Mo is probably off, Virgil is one year older...it would be a challenging season for any manager especially the young one just coming into the best league in the world.

He defo needs backing and plenty of it, I'm already fearing a summer of "Slot wants time to assess the squad" and "It's difficult in a tournament summer" type excuses but hopefully that's misplaced.

I think it’s mad to demand top 4 when we are bringing in a new coach with different methods and expect everyone to hit the ground running straight away. It’s a lack of patience and understanding in just how hard it can be to get your ideas across to a group of players in a short space of time. If he doesn’t get top 4 are we going to sack him?

There are loads of variables that can affect a league position, and as long as I can see a pattern and style of play emerging and largely positive results, then that will do me in season one. The first season is always about building a base for the longer term, and getting the learning period out of the way first season will lead to positive results in the future.

Patience is absolutely needed by the fan base and sticking high pressured expactions on the manager in the first season while he adapts to a new league and gets his message over to the squad makes zero sense.

It's honestly mind blowing how stupid his actions last week were. It was only ever going to end this way once he did it. Rumour is it was Stephen Flynn's idea..... he's not stupid so assume this was political games from him.

Has the widely known nickname of Humza Useless. SNP in chaos and has been losing credibility for quite a while now with Labour likely be the party to benefit from this.

Seemed a good idea to consolidate all the discussion into a single thread as policy details emerge. It's hopefully great news for the country as a whole, especially given the number of franchises being operated by the government right now anyway.

But this isn't going to be an overnight thing like the original rail nationalisation. It's going to take years just to secure the franchises. Rolling stock is a pipe dream given the shambles of the country's finances.

But this is one long term project we can all get behind!
