Strategy is key. Both teams have suffered mistakes in strategy over the years. Especially at street circuits.

Weather wont be as hot as it has been in previous years but no sign of rain either.

From the bbc.
First practice cancelled - Russell's car damaged by loose drain cover.
Rescue truck then crashes into bridge  ::)

If your moral compass is Piers Moron then I ask you to think whether someone who oversaw illegal phone hacking and published fake pictures depicting War Crimes is an appropriate person to look up to. In fact, I'd suggest you're a bit of a c*nt.

And then the crane truck hit a track bridge, damaging it, and rupturing an oil line causing oil to fall onto Russell's car.

Did someone at Williams run over a few dozen black cats?

Incredible really.  You can see his car suck the drain cover up.  They weigh loads too, just goes to show how much aero is being generated in these cars.

A other article form the secret aerodynamicist .......

Absolutely fascinating on the difference between low rate cars and high take cars.  Asks the valid question as to why every car is high rake when the only low rake car has won the last five titles.

Seems crazy that they don't seal them up prior to something like this, when I was at uni the queen came to open a new building and they sealed them up for her and she doesn't generate anywhere near as much downforce as these cars.

Well they didn't have the fastest car if they are slower. I mean what's your definition of fast? Mercedes faster In Australia, Ferrari in Bahrain and Mercedes in China and then Mercedes here.

I mean that's 3 times they've been faster and once slower? So what other kind of fast are we talking about, practice and pre season still?

People keep peddling this myth Ferrari are quicker. Its just not true

I think the other Ferrari was much faster. But right now, yes, the Ferrari is over promising and under delivering.
In fact, they look worse than they did last season. Or again, Vettel does.

Lewis should have poled that but screwed up his first sector...hopefully tomorrow will be a good one

Ferrari dominated practise and everyone said they’re the team to beat and expected them to get pole here.

But yeah, keep telling yourself the car isn’t fast if that makes you feel better.

They aren't over promising, its everyone else saying they are super fast, nailed on pole etc. Everyone is over estimating how fast they are. Practice is just that. When it matters they've been slower 3 times out of 4.

Leclerc would have been on pole but for Ferrari putting him on the harder tyre in second qualifying which probably contributed to the error.

The late Q3 helped Mercedes because track temperature was much lost by then. Ferrari architects of their own mistakes yet again.
