Nobody watch it?

Seemed like a class match. Selby won 9-8 after being 8-5 down. Brilliant comeback in any match let alone against O'Sullivan in a ranking final.

Ya, caught most of it. Switched over at 8-5 though. Turned back and it was 8-7. Wasn't a classic in terms of quality. Still great to watch a comeback like that. Might have a few quid on Selby for the WC.

You see any of the interviews right after? Just wondering what was said as theres alot of conflicting reports around!

Hes got a good chance alright. Him and Ronnie favourites for me closely followed by Murphy and Maguire.

Did come across as a bit sour at the end. And Selby admitted himself that he wasn't potting well so had to slug it out. And O' Sullivan couldn't wait to get out of there, kinda why i don't like him. Bit of a baby.

That is correct.

A bit of a pity that Mark Allen's paired up to meet Ronnie in the second round as I'm quite a fan of his. I wouldn't have minded seeing him having a bit of a run.

He beat Selby in the final. Selby will no doubt receive an invite anyway.

Looking at them odds. Quite like Murphy's price. Got a feeling for Carter though. Made the final last year and didn't do himself justice. Ronnie's draw is tough with Higgins and Selby as possible opponents before the final but it would be massive if he could win his 4th World Title. Still feel he needs 5 or 6 to be considered the greatest ever but I know that splits the snooker world that one

Hope Hendry gives a good account of himself. Played quite well in China.

Higgins or me to win - O'Sullivan

Ronnie O'Sullivan believes either he or John Higgins will win this year's World Championship if they find top form.

The world number one, aiming for a fourth Crucible crown, says only he and the Scot "can find an extra gear when needed" under the greatest pressure.

"We are probably the only two players that have the ability to do that," he told BBC Sport. "If we find our form, then it will be between me and John.

"If we don't find our game, then any one of 10 or 12 players can win it."

Ronnie O'Sullivan

O'Sullivan opens the defence of his title against sometime practice partner Stuart Bingham a week on Saturday, 18 April.

Two-time champion Higgins, ranked number five in the world, plays Michael Holt in the first round.

"The top players always find that little gear when needed. That is what separates you from being number one to possibly number eight in the world," O'Sullivan said.

"I always believe that when my form's on, it just takes the opponent and the occasion to make you find that next gear.

"The two best players in the world and the two that are able to respond and raise the gear when needed are me and John Higgins.

"All the others are good, solid players but they are not used to raising that gear, or they can't."

The 33-year-old has endured a mixed season. After winning the opening tournament, the Northern Ireland Trophy, and then reaching the final of the Shanghai Masters, O'Sullivan has failed to progress past the quarter-finals in four other ranking events.

"It has been a funny season," he added. "Last year I was much more consistent. This year I have still managed to win a few tournaments but I've just been a bit inconsistent.

"But I don't want to put too much emphasis on it. I just want to go there and allow the moment and the occasion of the World Championship to bring out either the best or worst of me. That is how it is.

"I won't be getting too worried about anything. Hopefully when i am there the form will appear when it needs to be the most."

Up until now Ronnie has always been downbeat, very tough on himself which effects his play! Now he knows that hes the best in the World look out every other poor fucker

Its not about excitement, snooker isnt generally exciting. Its a highly skilled game, and this guy is head and shoulders the most talented player to ever pick up a snooker cue. If it wasnt for Ronnie causing a bit of a huff on occassion, you wouldnt even know snooker existed.

And yeah snooker was fine before him, because again you had characters like Alex Higgins. Its about watching the best players. Hendry isnt what he was, same goes for Mark Williams. So people tune in to watch Ronnie potting balls like he can. If you dont like him fine, I know a lot of people dont. But dont kid yourself that snooker would be the same without him.

No matter what anyone thinks of Ronnie snooker wouldn't be the same without him. By far the best player currently playing and he's great to watch. If you don't enjoy watching Ronnie play then you don't enjoy watching snooker.

Reckons he can still compete at the very highest level and has moved up 20 odd places this year in the rankings. Would be great to see him back on the big stage again.
