I thought this was supposed to be a walk in the park based on the pre-match comments here.

Same misplaced arrogance as before the Anfield match against them. They always raise their level against us. Will be a tough one in the league as well.

Shot ourselves in the foot.

Hopefully it’s a lesson learned not to underestimate them and waste our chances when we go back there in a few weeks. Can’t be that casual and let them off the hook like we did today.

A lesson you'd hope we learn from in the rest of the run in. We cannot be that complacent again. As a whole team it was so sloppy but Darwin and Elliott dishing out gifts there is infuriating. Both have been brilliant lately but that'll haunt them.

Onwards and upwards. They won't beat us in the league.

Absolutely gifted that to them - extraordinary how we let them get four goals from so little.

Sometimes it almost seems like because we're usually so, so good, it breeds a bit of complacency with our attacks, almost like we're not too fussed if we miss because we're sure we'll carve them open a few more times and ultimately still win. But if you keep blowing 5-on-2s or 3-on-3s, you leave the opposition - no matter how poor - with the chance to get themselves back into it.

It's incredible how we dominated Man City, but failed to meaningfully challenge a back three of Dalot, Maguire and Fernandes.

We completely dominated the game until some of our players looked gassed. Poor decisions and individual errors.

One of the worst results after dominating so much.

They should have been down to 10 men for the tackle by Fernandes.

All our own making and a very poor result against a very poor team.

We’ve given Utd their DVD for the season there. They showed us how to finish a counter attack so fair play. Hopefully City smash them in the final.

Disgrace of a performance that. From 2-1 up second half we played like we were 10-0 up and Man U had no chance. Complete arrogance.
Despite the subs to go down to 10 men plus Gakpo we still managed to score but again can't manage the game as the arrogance kicks in once more.

passing was totally sloppy by a lot of the side.
Front men guilty of not passing, when they should of.  They fancied their chances of taking 2 to 3 Man U players on, and lose the ball. Rinse and repeat.
