Pepe Reina denies he wants to leave Liverpool

Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina has denied reports he has told manager Roy Hodgson he wants to leave the club.

"It is completely untrue," the 28-year-old Spain international told the Merseyside club's website.

"I have not told the manager that I wish to leave in January, or at any other time. It is important our fans know this.

"I have a long-term contract at Liverpool and I am fully committed to the club."

Reina added that he met the club's new owner last week, along with some of the other players, and "was very happy with what he told me".

The larger issue here is the press and their obsession with winding us up. What the fuck is this all about? I had hoped/thought that we'd seen the last of it or at least that it would slow down when Rafa left, but it seems to be picking up steam. I mean what is it that has these idiots climbing over one another to get the next exclusive about one of our star players wanting out. I'm fucking over it and I wish everyone else would be as well. I haven't bothered to review the comments since last night, but I'm sure there are more than a couple of whoppers slagging Pepe off based upon the speculation. Is there nothing that the club can do to curb this shite?
