Yes Jurgen helped get us VVD, but that was 6 years ago, we were a club in the CL for only the 2nd time in a decade. This is a different club, one that has played for and won the big trophies, not just a big name with a glorious history.

Will we miss out on elite players because we don't have quite the same pull without Jurgen? No doubt we will, but then again we missed out on Tchouameni and Bellingham in the last 2 years so we have to accept that there are still bigger fish than us.

I don't think we actually need that type of elite player that everyone wants in order to improve us. We have to look for our new Fabinho, the new Salah the ones that we bought with very little competition.

Like it or not, this is the structure we are going for. It is closer to what we had in 17-19 and as long as they can work together it will work for us. The only time it doesn't work is if the coach is not good enough (hint he goes) or does not want to work in the system (e.g  Rodgers).

We bottled it similar to what happened to Arsenal last year. Arsenal will bottle it this year as well when they lose to spurs. It’s citehs again this season.

The thing is mate, on day 1 of this season - even the most optimistic fan, never believed we could or should have been in a title race. We’ve done exceptionally well to have got this far with it being in contention.

I’m devastated that the lasting memory of most outside the club for Jurgens last season, will be what you’ve written above. But the reality is, he’s given a bridge into the next chapter of this football club.

I can’t articulate in words how very grateful I am to him for doing that (he was ready to go over a year ago) but he stayed, not for money or pride - but on principle, he would not leave this club until he was satisfied he could hand it over in good shape, and oh boy has he done that.

Fat lady has sang then

What a sad end to what looked like an incredible campaign

50/50 on who i want to win it from here... City's title's mean nothing but also a bit sick of them

Maybe with another win the people that give them all the favourable decision will see the league has become the Bundesliga and only Klopp stopped it being 6 titles in a row.

Summerville has been mentioned but who else? Think there were some links to Baier of Hoffenheim, who I thought was a winger but seems to play more as a forward (13 league goals this season though). Olise? Numbers look incredible plus he’s a lefty (and homegrown) but will be £60m and has an injury history. Zhegrova at Lille is meant to be a big talent. Bakayoko?

Olise injuries are the concern. Bierer would be a no brainer for £25m release clause

Wasn't aware of leaky teams being released early onsocials as i'm not on them. Can't be arsed with that so I'll be bowing out too as that's no fun. Just wanted to thank you for all your graft and bonhomie, Bo. The European comp was always me fave and the least corrupted it seems. I'll miss that most. All the best, pal  :wave

Look, I said I didn't want to spoil it for anyone else. I'm not using social media either, the leaks I've seen have all been on pre-match threads on RAWK, though they obviously originate somewhere else. BTW, I'll still be taking part in competitions on other threads, there's nothing wrong with those.

Not enjoying it, Liverpool was the only redeeming thing about football for me, Hoping for a big GAA summer though your lads ruined it last week

One of the very few results I had to cheer this month. Hopefully, there'll be another one this afternoon.  ;D

Could obviously be total bollocks but this person is seen as a bit of an ITK for City and reckons they are dishing out cease and desist orders, and are very confident of being cleared

Liverpool FC Forum / Re: Mohamed Salah - Best in the World *

Why do people keep drawing false comparisons and equivalence between what Salah did yesterday and other examples of players being subbed OFF? They're different situations.

Players subbed off have their blood pumping and feel they could and should do better and stay on the field. No one kicks off in the same way about them because those reactions are understandable and common. Milner did it, Henderson did it, Mane did it, Trent did it, Salah has done it numerous times. No problem. It also usually happens with players who have been in form so find it hard to accept they could be pulled out of a game.

What Salah did yesterday though is act like a disrespectful gobshite when he's being called upon to come in. He's been deservedly dropped and should be sitting on the bench thinking about how he's going to show the manager with his performance. But instead he's just sulking and not even shaking his hand. It's not acceptable, it's not the same as other examples you're drawing upon and please stop making the comparison over and over.

I swear to God it's only on RAWK where I think this is even a debate. Salah was so out of line but there'll always be people on here who'll attempt to justify anything.

In time I'll probably only remember the good moments with Salah, but right now I'm fuming with the guy. A joke on the pitch for 6 weeks and now he reacts like this? So out of order and I'd be happy enough if he went.

Well said. I couldn’t have said it better myself.

It has been months now. AFCON and it’s injury should be behind him so that fatigue excuse just don’t cut it. Accept that you are not playing well, listen to the manager and coaches, and don’t think you know better. LFC and Klopp do not owe him anything.

1990 - I was fortunate enough to be there to see us win it, taking it all for granted as an 12 year old.

2001 - I think a young Kirkland had a stormer for them. Far Mac confirmed their relegation with his late free kick.2007 was one of those line ups Rafa picked between big European games.Think he did the same at Fulham which helped them stay up ahead of Warnock’s Sheffield United.

2012 - Suarez and Norwich, what a combination!

2015 - no recollection!

2016 - this k their mad celebrations woukd us up a bit. Blew them away in the second leg.

2018 - think we had a k in it wobble that meant taking CL qualification to the final day..

Thanks For Your Memories
