Has popped his clogs and now joins the other immortals in Rock n Roll heaven.  I also hear that he had 30 grand in the bank when he joined the likes of Jimmy and Janis.

Can anybody confirm this?

I saw him in Old Hall Street about 10 days ago. He had a proper mini guitar though. It'll be sad if he has popped his clogs though he's one of town's characters

The 30 grand thing sounds like an urban myth.
What I remember about this fella is, he would always be smiling. Well he was the times I saw him anyway.

Does anyone know if that fella is still around Lime street who draws pictures on the ground with crayons?
The pictures are poor quality, like something a kid would draw.
And he'd write something next to the picture, that was like an epitaph.
Had dark hair and wore glasses as I remember.

he's still there on and off. haven't seen him for a few weeks though.
also haven't seen the old bloke who used to sit outside Marks and Sparks with his ghetto blaster blaring old songs out on it. nor the dancing teddies fella either come to think.
and what's happen to Carl? the handsome lad who used to sing soul songs. he was superb.

where are all our city street characters going?

As long as 'Stubby' the aggressive beggar who hangs round Central Station does one (as in goes away - not dies), I'll be a happy man!

Did they ever find 'No Smoking Bike Man'? He went missing earlier this year, if my memory serves me correctly.

I heard this too, but would be interested in knowing what happened to him......

I reckon if he were mentally stable, he probably could have ridden the Tour d' France given the amount of cycling that he used to do...... I remember seeing him in Southport all the time and then on the By-Pass too......

no he does reggae stuff lad with lecky guitar. You might be thinking of the bloke with the keyboard who had a sign saying, 'yes it is me singing'.
Carl used to be in Clayton Square or by GHL's. had music playing through ghetto blaster and amp and sang with it. he was like a slim John Barnes. Lovely smile and always said thank you when someone put money in the box.

OMG yes, forgotten about him. Ah the talent we produce in Liverpool eh?

There was also the woman with the piano by Marks and Sparks. They put a plaque in the floor for her after she died. think it went when the paving was redone. she raised thousands for charity. she was the mum of Jean Boht (mum in Bread)

Who remembers the old lady from the early/ mid 80's who used to stand at the front of The Kop and give the oppositions keeper loads of shit. She used to have a head scarf on and always had a shopping trolley with her. If I remember correctly she was on the front cover of the program in the 84/85 season the picture was from the 84 European Cup Final.

I think she lived in Norris Green somewhere!

What about that fella who used to put shoe polish on his head. Was his nickname cherry blossom?
Someone once told me he was always in denial if asked about the shoe polish.
Worked at plesseys someone else said.

I rememeber seeing him in the rain and the polish was running down his face.
Looked like he'd come out of a coal pit.

Funny as fuck.
