Is there a lawyer in the house?

Serious question - are there any RAWKite lawyers on the boards who we could bounce an idea or two off?

You probably need to be a bit more specific about what kind of advice you need. In the context of campaigning, if there are attempts afoot to try and silence dissent then that is obviously an entirely different specialism to advising on the ins and outs of commercial law re. purchases etc.

It may be as well that people may be wary about explicitly stating themselves to be a lawyer and then giving legal advice on an internet forum. I would imagine that could be a bit of a potential minefield professionally.

the difficulty is that as a lawyer - your professional insurance won't cover you for advice over the internet

the conversation you can have is at the level of two blokes chatting in a pub, one of whom happens to be a lawyer

it's not proper 'professional' advice - anytime anybody tries to bounce something off me I might give him a tip or two, but the main tip is 'go and see a solicitor properly'

and the above poster is right - people specialise in different things - no point asking a personal injury lawyer a specialist libel / planning law question
HE SAID ‘BIGGER’ PEOPLE ‘BIGGER’. OK, MOVE ALONG PEOPLE, THERE’S NOTHING TO SEE HERE

It's OK - obviously no legal "reliance" is gonna be asserted. It's just a friendly steer we're after (much like your average lonely cowboy).

Roy Id love us to hire a lawyer that deals in dodgy buisness deals, we have enough fans on here and other forums that would pay the costs if it meant taking them two c*nts to court for libel. But people have said we have no case, if Moores doesnt we dont have a hope in hell Im afraid.

You allow your wife out of the house?
I'm sooooo 1955.

Roy, are you not better off going on some legal forum and posing a couple of questions?  I'm sure they'll spare the time to give you a brief answer, anything more and obviously you'll pay, but they have to tout for work to a degree.
