He'll stay on as Honorary Life President.

Probably not good news.

What's the point of him staying on as Honorary Life President?  If he resigned from the Board based on principle, why would he hold onto a position of priviliege?

This smells of approaching hell. No more resistance to loading debt onto the club. Well done Moores and Parry. You got your money and have now also washed your hands of your responsibilities.

Not that Im sure of this but If he was on the board and with Parry also going we really now have no one with their hearts in the club , albeit they made major fuck ups , but something must be going on , I cant believe Moores would resign knowing that nobody  better was coming in .................

The resignation appears to co-incide with the refinancing of the club, so I suspect it's going to be a very interesting few days as we find out why he's gone.

He (and Rick Parry) prevented the entirety of the loan from being placed on the club, so with both of them now gone, that means the refinancing could see a shift in the debt so that the club is at considerably more risk of administration and player sales than it was.

This is not a good step.

It will be interesting to see whether he went on point of principle, or whether he was pushed.

The first interview is going to make interesting reading, either way. I wonder if we'll get an admission that he sold to the wrong people?

Surely when Parry resigned it didn't matter if Moores stayed or not - the four of them could still out-vote him to ladle debt on the club. And let's be honest, his objections made not a blind bit of difference, in reality - the banks will have the final say on what debt is guaranteed by the club and what by personal guarantees, I would have thought. Perhaps the financial boys can give us some insight.

Well it could only mean one of two options

1) H&G have the club and have full voting rights,

2) Something is up we havent got the full picture yet, with both other board members, Moores and Parry know the club is in safer hands, who?

As far as I remember, the WHOLE board must agree on issues such as refinancing. I remember reading that Parry and Moores vetoed H&G's attempt to load more debts onto the club the last time.

Well said!  It would be great to get this honest thoughts about what he did, but I doubt there will ever be an apology though...!

PS - just checked the link, 2 Fooking paragraphs from the club and that's it??

Very true, doesn't make much difference to the situation I wouldn't have thought. He could have stood up to them when they first went against their word not to put any debt on the club, but he chose not to then so why would he now ?

Good news is a rarity round these parts SE.  A silver lining could be Moores adding a bit of transparency to everything that has been and possibly everything that will be.

My speculative side says that with all that's going on with the players we are linked with, spending so much on johnson, moores stepping down, no CEO appointed yet i just cant help but think a change of ownership is on the horizon.  My head tells me not to hold my breath.
