Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing
« on: July 1, 2018, 10:27:01 pm »
When I first saw the images I thought it would be some shite fishing comedy.

Its actually really lovely, little look on life by the two as they spend a bit of time recuperating from heart problems.

Some great cinematography too

Highly recommend it, on iPlayer for catch up.

Caught a bit of last week’s. Love pretty much anything Bob does and it’s perfectly pleasant viewing with the odd chuckle thrown in for good measure.

Yes, I agree. Really relaxing half an hour. I loved Bob's enthusiasm when he caught a Barbel. Can't wait to see more.

Yes, enjoyed it like detectorists, in that gently pleasing way. I am also on an IPA voyage, like Bob in ep2. Trying every one I can find, as noted occasionally in the Beer thread. I may have had the same as him last night, a Lagunitas. Cloudy ones from small breweries are the ones to go for.

Pauls "You gullible little Northern prick" comment as the end of episode 2 was a proper belly laugh moment.

One of those quality shows that will go largely unnoticed while shite like Love Island rakes in the viewers by the millions.

What a lovely show.  Three hours well spent watching that - I feel I could watch it again actually ;D

Some great cinematography too

Couldn't agree more - the drone work was fantastic and really turns a simple premise into something brilliant.

Bob is an idiot, a lovely idiot.

Perfectly put.

I'm 31 and grew up watching these guys regularly on the fast show and shooting stars etc.

I just sat through the whole of this with the biggest grin on my face just loving every second. They're great together.

Like others I thought it was gonna be some shite fishing (have no time for fishing at all unless its sharks or something) show. It really is not. It's just heart warming (sorry) chilled out greatness and I'd recommend it to anyone and everyone who knows anything about the pair of them.

Watched all 6 on the train yesterday, so relaxing & fixed a near permanent smile on my face. Three on the way down to London and three on the way back. Both journeys flew by...got completely lost in it. Thanks for the tip off Rawk.

Hmmm, I felt it was a bit 'forced' and sugar-coated.

It's like the producers took all what we liked about the previous 2 and layered it on thickly in this one.

And Bob seemed to be acting it up a bit too much too.

They'll be playing the theme tune to Last Of The Summer Wine next and having Paul and Bob going down the river in a bath tub.
