Can anyone please tell me what this fella has done, apart from one FA Cup medal.

Secondly: I know its an old one, but what happened to Sir Bob Paisley?

Thirdly: Sir Elton John and his massive charlie and rent boy addictions.

Sir Mick Jagger....give it a rest Lizzie girl -  and her southern advisors.

Not being a top royalist - maybe I shouldnt be giving this an airing, but Sir Trevor fucking Brooking...what next...Sir Gareth fucking Gates?

This is evidence enough that the 'Honours' list should be scrapped.

What's he done? It was awarded for all his work with Sport England, taking lottery money and making sure good sporting projects in need of funds (no, not Everton FC) were rewarded, to improve all sport in this country at grass roots level. Seems fair enough to me, compared to some who've got it.

Never understood the Knighthood system.
From what I see, most BUY the titles given out.
It's just another Old School Tie (Southern) thing.
I thought a Labour governement would have scrapped the system, but they appear to enjoy the benefits as much as any other party.

The Labour Leader's hero and mentor is Margaret Thatcher - New Labour is a branch of Conservatism so I'd expect the peers system to stay.

There's always some sort of reason behind these awards. They can be awarded on the whim of someone like Alastair Campbell so as to further some hidden agenda. Despite being awarded by Her the Queen has fuck all say in any of it!

Brooking spent 15 years at Sport England, latterly as Chairman, and was widely respected for doing a difficult job well. Every other previous chairman has received a knighthood immediately, he didn't because he peed off the government.

The honours system is fundamentally flawed, but there are plenty of other more suspect awards than Sir Trevs'.
