Come on we all know that King Alfred wins in the end and he makes friends with the viking king and takes him of a grand tour of Britain they even came though Frome on that tour....... Frome must had been just a mud hut in a puddle then.

but I guess the real spoiler would be the name of the viking King. Which sadly I have always known

Today is the day (if you are in the USA or Canada).

S5 Episode 11 released tonight at 9pm ET on Amazon Prime. Then UK get it about 3am tomorrow.

It's actually on the History Channel tonight, I assume on Prime soon after (this is the first time I'm actually caught up and watching live). The good news is there will be more rips sooner in the usual places.

Based upon not particularly enjoying the first episode of The Last Kingdom and Buck Pete's endorsing Vikings as superior to that show, I watched the first three episodes of ~~season~~ series 1 today.

Fairly intense, this.

I admit to having avoided it because it's on the History Channel, which is a disaster of a cable television station, showing virtually nothing that can properly be termed as historical.

But Vikings is very engrossing thus far, looking forward to more of Northumbria being laid waste in subsequent episodes...

Not sure, I think there was some suggestion in the very first series that Rollo and Lagatha had a thing going or had possibly had a thing going. Can't remember the precise details, it's been a good few years now.

I do think it must be near the end for Lagatha, they have even tried to visibly age her in this episode, more grey than blonde.
I wonder if now she's back in England she'll end up like hubby, not so much dropped in a pit of vipers, but something along those lines.
As for Boneless, Harald looks suspiciously full of evil intent.
But all good stuff.

He's always been ambitious but it's simply pragmatic alliances and politics now, he's getting on.

On the Rollo Lagatha bit, I just checked and series one, episode one... Meanwhile, back at home, Rollo makes unwelcome advances on Lagertha.
I can't rememebr the precise details, I'd have to watch again, but the suggestion he could be the father instead of Ragnar is not unreasonable.

I totally agree with this. Ragnar was an interesting character, he wanted to make something great. The rest just want to kill whoever is in charge with no real long term goal.

I will watch til the end though so glad to see its only one more season, got to get started on Last Kingdom too.

Last Kingdom is a good watch, but the books are immense. So readable and re-readable, immersive and also informative. Obviously you also get much more depth in character development - but that's true of all books. It's called the Saxon Chronicles if anyone's interested.
