It's alright. Just alright and no more. It certainly isn't top tier TV any more, that's for sure. It's turned into 24 minus Jack Bauer and a ticking clock. Also, Carrie has me rolling my eyes at a regular basis. Yeah, sure she's unhinged and a bit mental and all that, but for fuck sake, must they emphasis this in every critical scene throughout. "Carrie, do not do blah blah! That's a direct order...blah blah! If you do...something something, blah blah!" Carrie then predictably throws a wobbler and gives the crazy eyes look and disobey's her direct order which would normally result in a mental person working for a top government agency getting the sack on the spot. Not in Homeland it doesn't. She's quickly been turned from a interesting character with deep rooted issues to a caricature of herself.

Yeah, surely after the last few times she directly disobeyed orders and then

Spoiler
In this one where she runs off, fucks Brody they give her another chance because Sol tells them to. Then she just starts disobeying orders at the next available opportunity, not 24 hours after.
[close]

Sure shes vital for the operation because of her knowledge of Nazir and Brody, but she basically does what the fuck she wants.

The crazy eyes are bugging me now too. She will be fine for half an episode, someone tells her not to do something, the crazy eyes come out and she does it anyway.

This is very true.

to be honest, I don't think this was ever in the class of things like the Wire, but was a kind of superior 24. Now it's just a bog standard 24

Thought it almost up there with The Wire in season one to be honest, amazingly tense at times and thoroughly engaging.

Second season is a different story.

I'm in the same boat I used to look forward to watching it after work on a Monday Evening, now I just record it off the TV and watch it whenever I get round to it. Its a shame because I loved the 1st season.

was ok, a bit silly at times.  but yeah.  breasts.

Spoiler
i liked the hint back to the first season with brief snippets of conversations between brody and nazir.  what i don't like is the heavy implication that he's praying with him therefore he must have something to hide.  he may well have something to hide, but him praying has nothing to do with it.

having said that, it's pretty clear that nazir and brody are in cahoots, and the failed plot was a deliberate distraction to make the CIA think they've thwarted the attack.  so is he now a triple agent?

Quite enjoyed epsiode 9, Episode seemed to have different camera shots than previous eps, or was that just me? Not that the way the show is filmed takes away from the episode, just something i thought was different to previous.

In TV trope land he's a Double Reverse Quadruple Agent.

I don't think there's much in the praying, it's just pointless information really... Brody told them all they needed to hear.

Also not sure Nazir and Brody are working together, it's too obvious

Really enjoyed episode 9. Although a lot of what happened was kind of expected.

Spoiler
The way they led up to Quinn's reveal was a bit obvious - including the 'keep an eye on Quinn' in the intro recap was a massive signpost.

Breasts, good. About time Mike got his oats sown, what a nice guy he is.

Carrie losing it for Brody a bit, but is it out of love for him or fear of losing her job/life/career again?

Intrigued by Estes going behind Saul's back, obviously ready to terminate Brody ASAP.

How does he think he'll get away with it? Brody is a public figure, people will ask questions. I'm surprised not more public engagements etc. have been fucked off by him since he took the deal, it's like he had loads of stuff to do and now he can just disappear without anyone being arsed in the slightest.

I thought it was one of the better episodes they've done recently.

Spoiler
and I'm glad Jess got it on with Mike, after all Brody was shagging Carrie last episode and he's done it before. There's nothing between Brody and Jess except a misguided sense of loyalty, trying to do the honourable thing. Their whole family would be better off with Mike at this point.
