I still see nothing to suggest, Coutinho is better in the midfield three. Hazard showing him how its done.

Very different situations; Hazard has much more space to attack when he's picking up the ball whilst Coutinho faces a wall of Chelsea defensive midfielders.

Theyve just said Klopp barely said anything to the players during that first half - no communication really

It would be easier if Coutinho was on his game. He's been poor in my view.

Surprised people saying that was dull or we are being ripped to shreds. Very good game, Chelsea looking dangerous on the break to be expected with Hazard in form.
Hopefully changes in the second half tilt the game in our favour. Come on lads!

You said we were lucky to be 0-0

It's not that far off the mark, is it? We haven't been bad but they've had the better chances from which they will feel they should have scored at least once.

Chelsea playing a very good tactical game - giving the ball, sitting back, hitting on the break. Statistically, any time we've had more than 65% possession of the ball in the league, we've had a tendency to draw or lose. We might want to try giving Chelsea the ball a bit and let them have to build up some attack, and then countering on THEM. But we're doing well enough, and we have Mane, Firmino and Lallana on the bench, so we should be looking to nick this early in the second half. We'll have to get a shot on target first though. Their next shot on target could easily be the breakthrough goal.

Cahill is getting too tight on Salah and he's turning him every time. We need to work on that.

Also stop slagging off the crowd. They've sat 11 men behind the ball and we've created very little. The players do need to lift the crowd as much as the crowd needs to lift the players. It's becoming a running them of every match thread to slag off the home support.

It's a 5.30 kick off against a big rival and the crowd have been shite. Even YNWA was quiet. It should be bouncing and vociferous from kick off at least

That's because we're at home and a bit more open, when they lose the ball Chelsea are ridiculously compact leaving little space.

Seen some video of our defensive game. Not good. Pundits don’t even know what to say, it's so bad. We fail to read and handle their runs in behind our defenders.

Hazard looks like he is close to going on one of those dribbles.

I'd say Drinkwater through on goal with Mignolet would count as a clear cut chance. Lucky Morata wasn't on the end of that to knick it over him.

Conte has them set up well with Hazard on the counter.

Pretty much...need to pick them with quick short passing around their box. Hard to do but thats the level we're faced with.

Here we go.

Terrible comment

The midfield is criminal. Absolutely no shape at all.

Henderson is running around like a headless chicken, covering ground but also leaving gaps everywhere. Drinkwater making runs unchecked, freely into the box.

Milner is playing like he is wearing 20 pound heavy boots stuck in quicksand. Coutinho is a non factor in midfield right now.

So I would move Ox into midfield and COutiho wide, get Lallana on for Milner.

Good call.

Coutinho really struggling in this new role. Been anonymous first half like he was against Seville. Maybe swap him and Ox or throw Gini or Lallana for Phil.
